We should have a holiday where lights are turned off to appreciate our starry night. We should call it "Space Day"

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

And everything under the Sun is in tune 🎶 This image from the eclipse during the Artemis II lunar flyby captures a halo of light around the Moon. Scientists are still investigating if the glow comes from interstellar dust or the solar corona.

The astronauts. Their ride around the Moon. The Artemis II astronauts pose for a group photo after viewing their Orion spacecraft — which they named Integrity — in the well deck of USS John P. Murtha following their splashdown.

I like how Artemis II is not the end of a mission, but the start. This begins America’s journey to landing on the moon and in a few years after that… establishing a permanent moon base.

Can we all agree that in a world of influencers, Z-listers, TikToks, badly acted ads, brand collabs, people filming themselves crying…the Artemis livestream of 4 middle-aged scientists doing their jobs is genuinely the best most authentic content of the century? Thanks @NASA🌚

It blows my mind that the projected splashdown time for Artemis II was 5:07pm, and it was, in fact, 5:07pm. Just a casual spot-on ETA from the fucking moon, no big deal.
