@BitPaine Yes, it’s adding market caps, and is therefore indeed a conservative estimate. It was just meant as hypothetical. It does, to a certain extent, include the float of the crypto projects themselves, but yes, if all that demand had been for Bitcoin, the price would likely be higher.

@therationalroot Is this just adding market caps? If so it drastically underestimates the price the effect of buying up the float.

@JacobKinge Yesterday was Industry Day, no general admission allowed, which means it's always much more empty. Today will be much busier. Also, there's a lower turn-out every bear market year, every conference some speakers cancel, and the event didn't end 4 hour early! cc: @ttmygh

BREAKING: The Bitcoin conference saw a record low turnout this year, with only a few dozen attendees. Several speakers also didn’t show, and the event ended 4 hours early.

Many crypto yield products have previously failed. It even caused a whole bear market in 2022. He's saying, that these opaque yield generating products are better off buying STRC, which is transparent, and therefore will drive demand for Bitcoin. He owns a company whose business model is increasing the Bitcoin per share. A consequence is that this (in your words) 'centralizes' bitcoin. But it's the same for any exchange who has a large sum. In fact there are dozens of foreign companies that copied his business model, and are also 'centralizing' (or just buying) bitcoin. I suppose he does work for the 'financial-industrial complex' as he has a public listed company, like any other company really.

Today I had an absolute great time at Industry Day, #Bitcoin Las Vegas! Long conversations with developers currently working on Cashu/Fedi. How covenants could improve non-custodian solutions. Offline lightning receiving. Ark. Met the creator of op_checktemplateverify (BIP-119). Watched a whole range of talks, from the effect of MiCA in Europe to post subsidy Bitcoin. So much interest from such a wide range of speakers, policymakers and Bitcoin developers. Bitcoin is winning! Thank you @TheBitcoinConf.
