This is insane. 🇵🇭 PHILIPPINES just became the FIRST country to declare a National Energy Emergency. The country imports 98% of its oil from the Middle East, making it among the most vulnerable to the Strait of Hormuz closure. Gas prices more than DOUBLED since the war began, the MOST EXPENSIVE in its history. Some petrol stations literally ran out of digits on their digital display boards. Moreover, the government did not impose a price freeze, suggesting prices could still go HIGHER. Its President confirmed the country has roughly 45 days of fuel supply left.

These international media make it sound like the Philippines is the first domino to fall. Yes, a national energy emergency was declared; but it’s not because the Philippines is running out of fuel. The issue is the price, which the Philippines has no control over. Since PH relies heavily on imported fuel, it makes sense to get ahead of possible disruptions. Right now, gas stations are open, no rationing, jeepney prices are still the same, price freeze on certain items. and anyone can still fill their tank. So this is not a “we’re running out of fuel” situation. It’s more of a precautionary move to stay in control if things escalate.

🇮🇱🇷🇺Israel didn't just hit Iran's Caspian port. It sent Russia a message. Last week's strike on Bandar Anzali was Israel's first ever on the Caspian Sea, and it wasn't really about sinking Iranian ships. That port handled 300,000 artillery shells and a million rounds of ammunition flowing from Iran to Russia in a single year. Ships regularly went dark, killing transponders to avoid tracking while hauling Shahed drones that Russia uses on Ukrainian cities and Iran uses on Gulf airports.
