@SaveSCScotland @theSpurtle I have no objection to purpose-built holiday accommodation built to the standards required for these. It's where accommodation which meets the spec for permanent residence is removed from that market for short-term use.

@theSpurtle Botched short term let laws have been responsible for the creation of a massive black market of unlicensed and potentially unsafe accomodation...as well as a boom of hotel expansion by private equity funded global hotel groups. Great job activists!

@rock_shamrock @theSpurtle @Edinburgh_CC Clearly scotgov are aware they are in danger of losing another judicial review if @CityCouncil_ENB keep heavy handedly refusing every legitimate planning application. @jomowat would do well to look at her own track record of blanket refusals before she speaks of loopholes

@theSpurtle The only thing correct here is the headline! @Edinburgh_CC have botched the policies themselves-encouraged operators to apply for STL licences,then used planning to close them down! Hotels/aparthotels sail through planning & the black market of non law-abiding STLs flourishes!

We have previously been concerned about the power of the short-term let lobby to be able to influence Edinburgh Council and the Scottish Government to create these kind of loopholes that undermine the licensing and planning process that protect residents.
