Supporting them, and all new teachers, would be funding the legal case against the Ontario government.

@eqao Is there a plan to extend the testing period?
Current the proctors contract ends on August 13th. Without a new contract or an extension of this one - new Ts cannot be tested, making the extension useless.
These needed to be announced together to be a full plan.

The Ministry of Education has extended the current deadline to fulfill the MPT requirement from August 31, 2021 to December 31, 2021.

What is enough?
Forgive new Ts who graduated in 2020 & 2021 of this requirement. Let them work in peace.
Reevaluate #TheMPT - what is it’s goal? could it meet its goal? is it meeting that goal?is it necessary? how else can we meet this goal? should we pay for it?

The new extension isn’t enough.
Dec is half way through the school year & there is no public plan to extend the testing period.
Who’s replacing new Ts in January then?
#TheMPT is pausing and/or stopping new careers while #OntEd is in a teacher shortage.

Another thought,
We keep treating schools as the solution to all the worlds problems but neglecting to give them adequate resources.
For every email sent asking schools to do more we need another 1 sent to @fordnation asking him to resource them adequately.

@eqao found that this test is good PR because it sounds good, not because it supports teachers or learners.

When they proposed this test, the researches it. It’s not seeking merit - @eqao found that is discriminatory. Feel free to read their report as it shows it doesn’t support our education.

#TheMPT does not support that - it encourages new teachers to be fearful of math, and the idea of cramming a subject as ‘learning’
#CancelTheMPT because the MPT does not follow the pedagogy it tests new Ts on.
