The signal for a robust El Niño for the peak of Atlantic #hurricane season (Aug-Oct) continues to grow. El Niño typically reduces Atlantic hurricane activity via increases in vertical wind shear. We'll have lots more to say with CSU's initial 2026 hurricane forecast on 9 April
The eastern Bering Sea is experiencing near record ice at an extent not seen in 15 years. Expect the ice to continue advancing southward through the week. North winds will continue to strip ice off of the main pack where it will decay rapidly in warmer waters. #SeaIce#BeringSea

According to NASA, today’s atmospheric excitement was caused by a 7-ton asteroid that was roughly 6 feet in diameter. It was first spotted about 50 miles above Lake Erie, moving east at about 40,000 miles an hour.
