Have any 2L bottles lying around? Please fill up with water or juice, place them in your fridge and hand them to the dudes by the traffic lights seeking work. They’ll appreciate it- especially in this heat. 🙏

Let me start with a Family Trust.. Anyone over the age of 18 can set up a family trust. It is not only for business people. It is for anyone with assets worth protecting, a house, property, savings intended for minor children, or wealth you want kept out of the reach of creditors. To set one up in Namibia you will pay approximately N$14,500 excluding VAT for professional trust registration and a custom trust deed. When the trust is formally established, the founder makes a small symbolic donation, typically around N$100, to bring the trust into existence. From there, ongoing costs include annual fees for a corporate trustee, administration, and tax compliance since the trust must file its own annual financial statements and tax returns. A trust starts making practical sense when you have significant assets to protect, property, business interests, or wealth you want managed for minor children rather than passing through the estate and the probate process. Below that level, a well drafted will achieves most of the same outcomes at a fraction of the cost. A trust is not a starting point. It is a destination you build toward as your asset base grows.

@Hamnjela How much do I need +- to open a family trust fund ? Or is it only available for business people ? 2. Which unit trust is the best for someone who is starting, the ones from the banks or the ones from insurance companies?

If you are in a position to advise your younger siblings or immediate friends and family seeking to study, please advise them to stay away from fields less likely to be financially as well as socially rewarding. We can’t all be nurses, teachers or business administrators 🤦🏾

@Benedick_M_Louw Is it reported that it is worth N$19.9m or that he owed N$19.9m? Before you comment what is the value of the said real estate piece?

I bet you had to Google “Bokkie Thorburn” to see what he does to be able to buy a N$40m real estate piece. If it was “someone” else you would know him/her by now based on what car they have or how hard they floss 😄.

That NSFAF move to cover debt owed by students facing financial block to graduate- how certain are we that they won’t use that information you NOW provide to track you down for money you owe them from a previous qualification? 🫢
