Honestly if you ever feel like everyone’s ahead of you… go outside and touch some grass. Sit in a coffee shop. People watch. Make small talk with strangers. Go visit a small town. Real life is so much quieter and simpler than the internet.

@chris_j_paxton One advantage of the classical stack was that you could reason jointly between layers (e.g. joint TAMP or Kinodynamic/feedback motion planning or decentralized multi-agent autonomy). Can VLMs be used zero shot for these types of reasoning?

We are rebuilding a classing robotics stack (global task planning-> motion planning-> controls) bit by bit as separate modules. VLMs fit in at multiple sizes and places in that hierarchy

One part of pi0 that’s been discussed less is that the model is designed to work with a higher-level VLM policy that divides a complex task into simpler sub-tasks: “Clean up the table” becomes “move your left gripper towards the red cup” and so on

In our experiments, we apply MORALS to traditional cartpole and pendulum benchmarks, as well as a 96-dim. trifinger hand (@robo_challenge) and a 67-dim. humanoid.
Our evaluation shows data efficiency RoA estimation on all benchmarks! (7/n)
