You’ve gotta laugh haven’t you. I popped into this very upmarket hotel/wine bar in Soho because I needed a toilet. As I walked in, one of the very lovely waitresses greeted me and I was too embarrassed to say I’d only come in for the toilet so now I’m sitting here with all the beautiful people, having a glass of wine. I don’t know how much this wine is, but I’m guessing it’ll be the most expensive penny I’ve ever spent.

@Jenny_1884 It is very sad, we used to eat out quite a bit but if you are a half decient cook all you are paying for is someone to wash up.

@houghtonc79 @marktheman2010 In my fridge now from Sainsburys "Finnebrogue" naked deli ham slices was £2.00 down to 50p
English

@marktheman2010 Asked an ex Sainsbury's manager and he said highly unlikely anything ever gets reduced that much. Minimum is 20% of original price, so an 80% reduction. Sounds like but of self labelling but it gets recorded and reported on what's been reduced, how many and by how much and by who

@Mr_Husky1 I would have given him 20 - if he was worth it.
If he is not prepared to take 50 he should not be working there
English

My husby and I went out to dinner last night, and the bill came out to $200. I left a $50 tip on the table, thinking that was pretty reasonable. But the waiter looked at it and flat-out refused to take it.
He told us that if we weren’t willing to leave at least $85, we shouldn’t be eating out in the first place.
I was honestly caught off guard. I felt embarrassed sitting there, like we’d done something wrong. We weren’t trying to be cheap or disrespectful — I genuinely thought $50 was a fair tip for that bill. Now I keep replaying the whole thing in my head, wondering if I misjudged it and questioning whether $50 really wasn’t enough.😱

@DeborahMeaden So many are now living in HMO's in small market towns where there is no work for them and they can not speak English.
English

@DeborahMeaden After the vote of yesterday If Labour were a business they would be insolvent. They went Right and have lost the Left not gaining any Right voters.
Clearly we need an election
English

Woah… so in fact Labour is doing considerably better than their hardline Tory predecessors ( many of whom now live in reform)

@jubs1515 @iamtomskinner Just followed you mate. Keep that pecker up
English

@iamtomskinner It's a lot easier to not feel like giving up when you have friends and family. I have neither. Other than my job, I have absolutely nothing.

Good morning and happy Thursday lovely people!
Just a little message for anyone out there feeling like giving up, feeling like the weight of the worlds on your shoulders or like you cant get in front right now.
Let me tell you one thing….. it’s times like these that you HAVE to carry on. In a couple years time you can either be sat in the same place saying “I wish I pushed myself back then”… or you can start now, dig deep and build the future you actually want. Anything is achievable….. please believe me. I’m walking talking proof, I had nothing ten years ago and today as im just working I feel so proud and grateful of what I’ve achieved.
Success dont come all at once. Its the small steps, the days you didnt feel like it but still showed up. Just keep chipping away and keep putting one foot infront of the other. Them steps dont need to be big, they just need to be going the right direction.
I’ve seen it so many times…… you’re stronger than you think. You just got to believe in yourself. Never give up. Keep pushing, especially when you want to give up.
Have a fantastic Thursday.
Love to you and your familys.
PS. Traffic on the A13 an M25 has been dreadful this morning as usual 🤣
Bosh❤️

@MatthewStadlen If its a suprise she did not expect it. If she did not expect it she is not in control + any fool can get more money in by putting tax up
English

@DeborahMeaden Any fool can raise tax and expect to get more money in
English

And this is why, in an age where we expect everything to happen immediately, there are some things that just need more time and switching horses before the plan bakes gives you the worst of all worlds. There will be blips … always are… but how about we stop wishing the worst on ourselves.

@mindofprospect Just because something is cheaper than elsewhere it does not mean that it is cheap. You have to take the quality into concideration

@Deano92_ @palacephilboy @hfc_felix @29Tommy53 WOW! This is the OP's point. People but farms to leave to their children because inheritance tax is much less for farms. Making money is not the point of buying it, this is why HMG put the IT up and did a U turn
English

@DeborahMeaden Tell me, what has Starmer done for SME's and youth employment?
English

@palacephilboy @hfc_felix @29Tommy53 You do rea;ise tat the brewery is the fastest growing business in the UK 142% growth in 3 years, turnover of £21.3m thats £7.8m up from the previous year. Some tax dodge!
English

@hfc_felix @29Tommy53 He only bought it to avoid paying tax

What an absolute disgrace.
Not only is this MP improperly dressed for a public role representing the UK on the world stage but she's underscoring her disrespect for the House by putting her feet on the benches and childishly chortling at another MP attempting to speak.

Go George!
PS: It's so ironic that a man who has been noted to be unable to pronounce over 100 different words believes a dictionary can help him get out of a jam.
Spoiler alert: It didn't.
