@the_crsk@larnefc People just can’t afford it I think especially if you’re taking a cpl of kids. It’s an expensive day out for a lot of folk. Though we’ve all heard the rumours about why some people don’t attend Larne games now. Whether there’s truth in them is another thing.
@isthistrue12195@larnefc The point I'm making is that nobody is arguing against you on that. Linfield attendances are well down this year. Crues attendances are down. Ballymena finished the season with half of the crowds they started the season with.
@the_crsk@larnefc Maximising tickets sales as their attendance is low. Yes I agree with you on that score. Stevie wonder in a galloping horse can see larnes attendances are well down on what they were the first few years under Bruce’s stewardship.
@isthistrue12195@larnefc Imagine a club trying to maximise ticket sales and attendances. Larne must surely be the first club to have ever done that. You're talking utter nonsense🤣 Attendance police out in force again 🚔
@the_crsk@larnefc Most definitely an obsession. Was the first question asked by many under Kenny Bruce. Now when crowds have dropped quite a bit they get upset when people point that fact out. One swallow doesn’t make a summer. No doubt they’ll be back to the bring one more campaigns and the like.
@isthistrue12195@larnefc Hardly an obsession - just highlighting and recognising the record. Larne will never match the attendances of the Belfast clubs but, for a town of around 20K people, they're certainly punching well above their weight.
@larnefc What is the obsession with attendance? Of course you would expect that sort of crowd for that day. How many “bring one more” campaigns did you have this year? How many folk were begging people to go to games in every WhatsApp group they were in? Your crowds are down, accept it,
@the_crsk@slennon115@fmeetsdata It’s a poor league and also has violence in it. Like every league. Let’s not try to label one league to be an anarchist wasteland when every league has violence in it
@jonboy_avfc@fmeetsdata Most points, second-most goals scored and best goal difference. If that's what lame is then I'm more than happy for Larne to be lame 🤣
@slennon115@fmeetsdata Just say ya hate us and move on. As disgusting as it is it happens in literally every environment around the world. Acting like your league is all sunflowers and rainbows. I could make your league out to be hell just purely on how cliftonville are treated
@gregcoleraine I disagree. People complain about the Irish League and they've taken a chance to do something different for some media attention and it's worked. Why not put our wee league in the spotlight as much as we can? Coleraine will be the team to beat next season I feel.
@ConnaireMcG@Bazzinho9 There was a slight amendment in 2023 where matchdays 34 and 37 were swapped so that the top two would meet closer to the finish. I think that same logic should be applied so that title challengers' games against teams more interested in the Play-Offs/Cup Final take place earlier.
Larne won the title by three points but 6 of the last 7 points they picked up came against weakened teams whose focus lay elsewhere.
I, a genius, have come up with a foolproof* post-split fixture tweak that would reduce the risk of that happening again.
