Not great timing for the holiday weekend, but a beneficial soaking to help put a dent in the drought.

Tomorrow is the nicest day of the week, but Tuesday won't be too bad either, just with more clouds. While there's a chance of a passing shower as early as Wednesday afternoon, steady rain is much more likely at night, possibly lasting into early Thursday with cool air to follow.

@CecilyTynan @6abcadamjoseph Philadelphia International Airport: hi Adam and Cecily. I don’t know if you knew this or not but 2026 was only the fourth year, after 1960, 1977 and 1990, with at least one 80° day in March and at least one 90° day in April.

90S IN APRIL So far Philadelphia has reached 91 degrees setting a new record high for the date. Here are some other stats for April 90s here in Philadelphia. Not very often you see it this warm this early in the year.

Expect a few passing showers in the area this morning into this afternoon. A line of showers will then traverse the area late this afternoon into tonight. An isolated thunderstorm or two can not be ruled out for NYC and Long Island this evening.

@joshtimlin NYC, Central Park: 2024-2025 had 141 days in a row under 70F, longest such streak since 2014-2015 (167 days) and 2012-2013 (174 days) (2025-2026 would have 140 days)

Central Park broke above 60F for the first time in 111 days - the longest streak below 60F since 1982. This is more in line with winters of 100 years ago than the modern climate period. #NYwx

The Spring Equinox occurred at 1046 AM today. Temperatures this afternoon will be springlike as well, near normal across Long Island and coastal Connecticut due to marine influence, and as much as over 10 degrees above normal across northeast New Jersey.
