@Shejackiesays When you intervened so that they didn't get arrested you fixed your problem, and created a bigger one for everyone else.

Something happened in my area last Friday (Eid holiday) and it’s been bothering me. A neighbour had no light the whole day. Instead of reporting it early or waiting on ECG, she decided in the evening to get someone to “fix” it. Around 7pm, my light and about 10 or more other houseswent off at the same time. We step outside and there’s a guy coming down from an ECG pole in the area Turns out, he had changed the phases just to restore light to one house… at the expense of the rest of us. 10 houses off so 1 person can have power. We confronted him. First he said he was an engineer. Later, he said he’s a student. No permit, no authorisation just up on a pole. I called ECG, and they made it clear this is illegal and dangerous. We were even warned earlier that repeated incidents like this could get the whole area disconnected. And honestly, this isn’t even the first time. These “informal fixes” are becoming too common. We insisted he reverses what he did. He resisted. When he finally tried, cables sparked and part of the area went off again. Thankfully, ECG came in and restored power. They were ready to arrest both the guy and the person who called him. I had to step in to calm things down and let it pass as a warning. But now here’s the twist—the same neighbour is upset with me. Giving me attitude. Because she thinks I’m the reason ECG came… and not her. So now I’m the bad person for stopping something illegal that affected multiple homes? At what point did “fixing your problem” start meaning creating a bigger one for everyone else? Because this right here is part of why we keep having unstable power issues in some areas.

@GhanaTechInfra So every region must have an airport and a stadium but if they don't have a simple train station no one is bothered? We're building white elephants everywhere

@KwekuBaah_ To be fair you don't have to be a doctor to know whether this plan will work or not.

@brightackwerh @NiiBortey_ Fundraising for a private profit making entity which doesn't even want to be transparent about its earnings, loans, grants, management meetings... our priorities are severely misplaced

To be clear GFA is not a charity. It is not a not-for-profit. It is a private entity. The teams earn winnings, the organisation is just poor at management so we treat this whole thing like a charitable cause.

“The estimated cost of sending just 200 supporters is about $2,000,000, and the government cannot bear that cost because we are still guided by the Dzamefe Commission report. That is why we are calling on Ghanaians and the private sector to support funding Ghana’s World Cup

Senegal’s president casually updates his social profile pictures to include the AFCON trophy behind him. How do you say “come and get it if you can” in Wolof?
