@j_clem Part of the problem though is that European teams schedules are packed now because of Nations League. Very few opportunities for friendlies with them.

At this point, I'm ready to see major changes with how US Soccer operates.
It's clear that playing so many CONCACAF games with no meaning, does not prove to be good for preparing the team for major tournaments.
I am fearful that this "golden generation" is capable of having an underwhelming performance at the World Cup and if that happens; I'll be curious to see how that could impact growth in the game domestically.

I've been following the US Men's Soccer team for nearly 40 years. Considering the current pool of players from this "golden generation," this is the most disappointing team I've ever seen. What a waste of talent.

Célio Pompeu suffered a non-contact ACL injury in training last week and will be sidelined for an extended period.
He will begin his treatment and rehabilitation process immediately with the full support of everyone at the club. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Noahkai Banks subbed off in the 85th. No way around it — he was poor today. His performances continue to be uneven, but that's expected from a 19-year-old CB in the Bundesliga. I'd still bring him in March and to the World Cup. He's a very important player for the future, but anyone who thinks he wouldn't be a huge risk starting in a World Cup game is lying to themselves. The problem is, almost all of our CBs carry huge risk.

My big takeaway from the goal that broke @stlCITYsc early isn’t the CBs. It’s our midfield & aggressiveness on the press.
Recovering the ball after its’ lost in the attacking end is highly prized in our system. Here, Edelman & Durkin…

@Miles_Sommer @ChatCityTactics There is a limit to how much you can buy down a DP regardless of how much GAM/ TAM you have. I don’t know what the limit is, but I know there is one. For example, Bürki cannot be bought down this year. Perhaps he can next year depending on what his salary is.

Re: Sargent to TFC... I can't re-iterate enough that every single report has consistently said that Sargent wants Toronto and no other MLS team. That's reflective of him, his family, and how he wants his career to progress. Does it stink for @stlCITYsc to not be in the running given that? Yes. But to assume that because a player grew up here through his teens and would want to now return years later just for that reason alone is... dare I say naive to the player and unfair to the club that they "didn't get the job done". And given that + the time it's taken for this deal to happen + the now reported $700K GAM haul that CITY is getting, it's hard to come to any other conclusion other than CITY fought to maximize their return w/the unique situation they're in here. #AllForCITY

@STLSoccerNews I get so annoyed at people that think he must want to play here because he grew up here. Same with Ream, same with the Tkachuk brothers. These people have whole families that aren’t from STL

The general reaction of some CITY fans asking "Why didn't CITY sign Josh Sargent" makes absolutely no sense when it was stated repeatedly he only wanted to go to Toronto. You can't force a player to go somewhere they don't want to be.

Deal is loan with purchase option.
Cordova, 28, previously played for Vancouver and Real Salt Lake in MLS. 19 caps for Venezuela.
