MILWAUKEE POLICE SHOOT, KILL SUSPECT AFTER PURSUIT LINKED TO EARLIER HOMICIDE Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, April 13, 2026, a homicide occurred at 7th and Mitchell. Officers were seeking a vehicle tied to that homicide. Later that afternoon, the same vehicle was involved in a shots-fired incident near the 1700 block of North 35th Street. Shortly thereafter, at approximately 4:47 p.m., officers observed the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The suspect fled, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed on S. 35th Street near West National Avenue. The suspect exited the vehicle and fired shots at the officers. Several officers returned fire, striking the suspect. The suspect’s firearms were recovered. No one else was struck by gunfire. The suspect, the sole occupant of the vehicle and a 31-year-old male, was transported to a hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
