We campaign for an English Parliament, meaning a parliament for the people of England, for whom England is their chosen or inherited home.

Huge support for this. The least we could do is have next July 12 as a national holiday in England to mark the 1100th anniversary of English unification x.com/tomough/status…

England will be 1100 years old next summer. Still time to commission a massive bronze of Athelstan. We can put it on the fourth plinth of Trafalgar Square, thus sparing ourselves many more decades of rotating modernist nonsense.

We’re launching a new exam results app, to make life easier for teachers, staff and pupils, saving schools an estimated £30m a year. There’s a pilot in Greater Manchester and the West Midlands before it goes nationwide👇🏻

@WalleyVision @Dr_W_E_Bulmer @sam_bidwell Additionally, Irish nationalism is centred on reunification, whereas Unionism is divisive and focused on maintaining a foothold in a foreign country. The Six Counties aren't British, as they're not part of the island of Britain. It's a geographical term, not a political one.

The English are a regional building block of the British people. Our country is the United Kingdom. This need to subdivide into ancient identities is a response to the divisive nationalism we see in Ireland, Scotland and Wales. I don’t want to play i to the hands of nationalists.

It's not technically St George's Day until next Monday, but this is a good contribution to the annual ritual of the Great Debate About Englishness from @sam_bidwell.

Labour has a phobia about mentioning England, Streeting only has authority over NHS England, Labour controlled Welsh Parliament runs NHS Wales, SNP controlled Scottish Parliament runs NHS Scotland. -Streeting delays plan for 40 new NHS hospitals in England mol.im/a/14306509

"The UK government unveiled its English Devolution Whitepaper this week in which it sets out how it will avoid introducing devolution to England. The white paper sets out the UK government’s intention to mandate regional “strategic authorities”, centralise power on regional mayors and establish a Council of Nations & Regions at which England will never be represented." thecep.org.uk/devolution/uk-…
