Just a heartbreaking day. I pray to see the day we see breakthroughs in cancer treatment. I spent seemingly every day of October-January at Cleveland Clinic when my father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The memories of walking through that place everyday will always stick with me… being able to feel how my family felt, how my father felt, how other families walking in their felt… truly makes you realize nothing matters more than life itself. The coldness, the bleakness, the sterileness.. the dreariness of the snow falling onto the city outside while you try to process life and the world…. It’s fucked up, man. It’s got me fucked up. Everyday. Seeing those you love most pass in front of you… And it happens everyday. You’ll never feel apathetic. You’ll never understand the apathy toward human life or relate to it. More than ever it’ll make you angrier and more energized to fight for it… for each other. I haven’t been able to relate to anything but that

Obviously this is a minor thing but Shams's announcement of Clarke's death was weirdly, startlingly terse and it's hard to know if that's bc he was rushing to be first or is truly a soulless news ticker who can't muster a more appropriate way to report it
