I'm delighted for Nigel Farage. According to @nberpubs, Brexit gave our country a 6-8% reduction in GDP per capita, a 12-18% reduction in Investment & a 3-4% reduction in productivity. But it gave Nigel Farage a gift of £5millon. So that's alright.

Nigel Farage tells @MrHarryCole the £5m gift is a "reward" for Brexit Says it's "nothing to do with the Electoral Commission" and "I'm not in the least bit concerned"

@david_hollas Now can he donate the £5m to the country as those “Brexit Benefits” have failed to materialise?

Farage has told the Sun today that the £5m from Harborne was "a reward for campaigning for Brexit for 27 years." A reward for work is income. Income is taxable. At the additional rate that's a potential liability of around £2.2m. He's changed his story from personal security funding to payment for professional services, in public, on the record, today. HMRC doesn't need a referral.

It looks increasingly likely that this time next week neither Streeting nor anybody else will have challenged Starmer and Burnham will not have secured a by election to return to the Commons. Some of the press reporting over the last few days has been disgraceful.

Rayner has been cleared, but the media ran 30 front pages in total, averaging 4 front pages a day during the peak of the story. Farage's £5 million gift has had two front page stories. Why would there be such a difference in reporting standards for the two?

So we were told by journalists that Wes Streeting would launch a leadership bid this morning. This morning has come and gone. Interesting the role some in the media are playing in this destabilising psychodrama.

Well, well, well. The UK economy grew 0.6% in the first three months of the year under Starmer and Reeves.

If he was willing to say “Up the RA” for £87, what do you think he’d be willing to do for £5 million?

Four MPs now say they have been in touch with allies of Al Carns and are convinced he is preparing a run for the leadership - although likely only if the PM stands down first

@JamesCleverly James just CAN'T stop LYING! The real reason why borrowing costs are so high for the @UKLabour government, is they are paying over £100 BILLION every year to service the £2,7 TRILLION debt they inherited from the Tories! Debt was just £1 Trillion in 2010 when Tories elected

Now 81 MPs calling for PM to go - the threshold for a leadership challenge. They of course might be supportive of different candidates but symbolic nonetheless

🚨BREAKING -- The Court of Appeal has ruled that Mr Justice Johnson had no jurisdiction to refer Palestine Action barrister Rajiv Menon KC for contempt of court proceedings. These proceedings were brought against Menon after he reminded a jury earlier this year of its absolute right to acquit.

We saw some madness under the Tories. But the Prime Minister literally refusing to discuss with his cabinet the fact 100 of his MPs have just resigned and called for his resignation is pretty close to the top.

An unedifying spectacle at Downing Street today. A total circus led by clowns. And many of these clowns voted to punish farmers. So while they all plot and manoeuvre for power, 7,000 farming related businesses have closed in one year because of their actions. Absolutely shameful.

🚨 BREAKING: It is officially over. Number 10 just sent Darren Jones onto morning TV to defend Keir Starmer. Instead, when asked if Starmer will lead Labour into the next election, Jones completely refused to say yes! You literally cannot make this up. Even his most loyal attack dogs are abandoning him live on air. 🧵👇
