@GoodmanHoops Here’s the solve. Min 2yr contract. If a player leaves before the end of the contract, they refund the contract amount and must sit out a year. Only situations that will allow an early contract break are an exit to the nba/pro league, coaching change or move to lower school.

There are now 1,650 total D-1 players who have entered the portal. My guess is about 100 of them are walk-ons. That means about 1,550 scholarship players have already entered the portal - of about 5,000 total. And about 1,300 or 1,400 of those 5,000 are out of eligibility. So that’s about 1,550 out of around 3,650 already in - which is 42 percent.

@_willcompton Disagree. Allowing smaller-scale programs a chance at the tourney is the piece that makes March madness special. It may not happen often, but a G5 school making a run at a title would bring magic to the CFP. No one wants to see the same highly funded schools get in every year.

My attitude is wanting the 12 best teams in the CFP People that think the G5 needs a team in this season is no different than a JV player swearing to his boys that he needs to be playing Varsity You’re not good enough THIS year And everyone else sees it but you
