Providing an update on the damage from the missile attacks on Ras Laffan Industrial City H.E. Minister Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi: The missile attacks reduced Qatar’s LNG export capacity by 17% and caused an estimated loss of $20 billion in annual revenue - Extensive damage to our production facilities will take up to five years to repair and will compel us to declare long-term force majeure QatarEnergy expects the damage to its Ras Laffan Industrial City caused by missile strikes, which occurred on Wednesday 18 March 2026, and in the early hours of Thursday 19 March 2026, to cost about $20 billion a year in lost revenue and to take up to five years to repair, impacting supply to markets in Europe and Asia. Providing an update on the damage to the facilities at Ras Laffan Industrial City, His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, said “I am relieved to confirm that no one was injured by these unjustified and senseless attacks, which weren’t just an attack on the State of Qatar but attacks on global energy security and stability. This was an attack on all of us who stand for development and human progress that is sustained by a fair, reliable, and secure access to energy.” The attacks damaged two liquefied natural gas (LNG) producing Trains 4 and 6 totaling 12.8 million tons per annum (MTPA) of production, representing approximately 17% of Qatar’s exports. Train 4 is a joint venture between QatarEnergy (66%) and ExxonMobil (34%), and Train 6 is a joint venture between QatarEnergy (70%) and ExxonMobil (30%). His Excellency Minister Al-Kaabi said: “The damage sustained by the LNG facilities will take between three to five years to repair. The impact is on China, South Korea, Italy and Belgium. This means that we will be compelled to declare force majeure for up to five years on some long-term LNG contracts.” The attacks also targeted the Pearl GTL (Gas-to-Liquids) facility, a production sharing agreement operated by Shell, that converts natural gas into high-quality cleaner burning drop-in fuels and produces base oils used to make premium engine oils and lubricants, and paraffins and waxes. “The damage caused to one of the two trains at Pearl GTL is being assessed and is expected to be offline for a minimum of one year” His Excellency Minister Al-Kaabi added. It should be noted that there will be a loss of associated product production due to this outage as follows: · Condensates: 18.6 million barrels which is around 24% of Qatar’s exports · LPG: 1.281 MT which is around 13% of Qatar’s exports · Naphtha: 0.594 MT which is around 6% of Qatar’s exports · Sulfur: 0.18 MT which is around 6% of Qatar’s exports · Helium: 309.54 MCFA which is around 14% of Qatar’s exports His Excellency the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy paid tribute to the Qatari military and security forces and to the energy sector emergency response teams whose courage and extraordinary professionalism ensured the situation was contained quickly and safely. #Qatar

BREAKING: Iran just hit the Bazan refinery in Haifa, Israel's largest oil processing facility. The refinery runs at 197,000 barrels per day and supplied 65% of Israel's diesel, 59% of its gasoline, and 52% of its kerosene last year. Israel has now only one backup refinery in Ashdod.

.@gavofyork, how much do you trust your developers at Parity? Just to be clear, I’m not suggesting they are inefficient or anything like that. So far, they’ve done a great job building the ecosystem. But what happens in the hypothetical case that there are delays in the product they are developing (which is quite common in this industry), and there is no product release for another year or more? Do you truly believe the ecosystem could withstand that? I think there are some internal leadership roles that need to be filled and responsibilities divided among developers: some continuing to work on the future product, while others focus on delivering immediate solutions. Why hasn’t a global campaign (by regions) been created to attract new developers to experiment, showing them what works now, and giving them proper support? Why, even after three months, are we still seeing social media without a clear presence or a consistent content strategy that shows what we should expect from Polkadot in the future? Who will still be around to witness the birth of these products if the ecosystem itself is failing to attract people to watch? It’s like organizing a huge festival in a massive venue, but keeping the doors closed so that only the singers and security staff attend. It’s time to step up and stop taking the easy path. This is simply a matter of coordination. Come on, @Polkadot you can do better.

Enterprise adoption? I didn't notice, where?
PolkaWorld@polkaworld_org

.@paritytech has always leaned into enterprise adoption, right? But for a long time, it was seen as a purely B2B story, something that didn’t really move the needle for users, and felt disconnected from the broader Polkadot ecosystem. With the rise of RWA, that perception might finally change. Because this is no longer just about providing tech to enterprises. It’s about giving them access to liquidity. Imagine this: • Parity curates enterprises with high-quality assets • Provides the infrastructure • Deploys them onto Polkadot Hub • Builds a native RWA pool on Hub Now, DOT holders can directly access these assets and earn yield. In this model: • enterprises bring assets • @Polkadot provides infrastructure • DOT holders provide liquidity At that point, @Polkadot Hub isn’t just a chain helping enterprises go on-chain. It becomes a market. And if it can truly connect assets with capital, Polkadot Hub becomes a capital layer. @gavofyork @dsedacc07

Exactly my point! There are far better options out there right now for a new builder. PBA has wasted millions while delivering below average substandard results, and yet they claim they are "the best" Maybe THE BEST in fooling people! I hope @gavofyork sees this conversation and takes an action to bring positive changes!

@lily_mendz @theintern_alpha @gavofyork Can confirm firsthand. We are building our project on Polkadot but damn is it a hustle, feedback loops are a headache, tooling ambiguity, slow technical responses, and no clear escalation path when you’re stuck. At this point I’m just disappointed in where the ecosystem is going

WHAT’S REALLY HAPPENING IN CUBA? The island has just suffered its worst national power collapse in decades, leaving 7 million people without electricity after the country’s grid completely failed. And is now going through complete nationwide blackout. The crisis escalated after the U.S. intervention in Venezuela earlier this year removed Cuba’s main oil supplier. President Trump then followed with what officials are calling a “triple-threat” blockade, imposing heavy tariffs and pressure on any country attempting to deliver fuel to the island. Trump recently said a “friendly takeover” of Cuba could be possible, noting the country is “down to fumes” with almost no energy or cash left. On the ground, conditions are rapidly worsening: • Hospitals are rationing power and delaying surgeries • Public transport is nearly halted due to diesel shortages • Trash collection is stopping across several cities For the first time in three months, no foreign oil shipments have reached Cuban ports. Even as parts of the grid slowly reconnect, rolling blackouts of up to 15 hours per day have become the new normal.

This war had nothing to do with America. No threats! Israel dragged US into it because of @netanyahu 's ego! NATO, UK, France and other allies almost got dragged into it as well Israel is the real terrorist here Well done @joekent16jan19 for standing for your moral values 🫡

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

There are many false claims in this letter but let me address one specifically: that "Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation."   This is the same false claim that Democrats and some in the liberal media have been repeating over and over.   As President Trump has clearly and explicitly stated, he had strong and compelling evidence that Iran was going to attack the United States first.   This evidence was compiled from many sources and factors. President Trump would never make the decision to deploy military assets against a foreign adversary in a vacuum.   Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. The Iranian regime is evil. It proudly killed Americans, waged war against our country, and openly threatened us all the way up to the launch of Operation Epic Fury.   Iran was aggressively expanding their short-range ballistic missiles to combine with their naval assets to give themselves immunity – meaning they would have a degree of a capabilities that would give them immunity to hold us and the rest of the world hostage.   The regime aimed to use those ballistic missiles as a shield to continue achieving their ultimate goal – nuclear weapons.   The President, through his top negotiators, gave the regime every single possible opportunity to abandon this unacceptable course by permanently giving up their nuclear ambitions in exchange for sanctions relief, free nuclear fuel, and potential economic partnerships with our country.   But they would not say yes to peace because obtaining nuclear weapons was their fundamental goal.   President Trump ultimately made the determination that a joint attack with Israel would greatly reduce the risk to American lives that would come from a first strike by the terrorist Iranian regime and address this imminent threat to America’s national security interests.   All of this led to President Trump arriving at the determination that this military operation was necessary for U.S. national security, which is why he launched the massively successful Operation Epic Fury. The Commander-in-Chief determines what does and does not constitute a threat, because he is the one constitutionally empowered to do so - and because the American people went to the ballot box and entrusted him and him alone to make such final judgments. And finally, the absurd allegation that President Trump made this decision based on the influence of others, even foreign countries, is both insulting and laughable. President Trump has been remarkably consistent and has said for DECADES that Iran can NEVER possess a nuclear weapon. As someone who actually witnesses President Trump’s decision-making process on a daily basis, I can attest to the fact that he is always looking to do what’s in the best interest of the United States of America — period. America First.
