Francis Fukuyama in “The End of History” evinces that human nature is such that no matter how much we have, amid freedom, health & prosperity, there will be struggle, if only to relieve our own boredom. Christianity ideally bends our thirst for struggle against ourselves & our own propensity for sin, finding contentment in holiness, peace & gratitude.

Small town where I often worship has only one denominational church plus two nondenominational churches mtg at school & American Legion including biker church. It feels like 70 years ago as Methodist church is default community religious center.
