@thejrosser Really sorry to hear this Jonathan. The photocard should be sufficient as proof of age when travelling. I will feed this back to the team with regards to this station. ^DS

dang. am I missing something or seems like the only way to detect any ooms in Linux is only via dmesg? I’m trying to find a way to catch ooms via @PrometheusIO alerts...

The @OpenStack Ansible team is proud to publish our first official Stein release! I'm super happy and proud of our entire team and I can confidently say you can run production-grade OpenStack deployed easily via @ansible at scale!

If you’ve missed our demonstration at @European Broadcasting Union - EBU Network Technology Seminar including the Mellanox Rivermax OpenStack KVM Cloud ST2110 Solution, and Mellanox On-switch TR1001 infrastructure. You can see them here. Thanks to everyone who stopped by.

The broadcasting industry is starting its transformation toward using software-defined infrastructure, like others before it -- It's great to witness those early stages in person and explain how #OpenStack can help
Ildiko Vancsa@IldikoVancsa

Cloud is everywhere! I'm at a Network Technology Seminar in Geneva to learn about the challenges and innovation in broadcasting and to talk about @OpenStack with @tcarrez! 😊😎

@markgoddard86 @OpenStack @vexxhost You know, that was actually my first personal instinct. Using a layered file system which I can easily snapshot as I went through, but I've seen bad things happen in the past with layered filesystems and it can get pretty complex.

All @OpenStack at @vexxhost is upstream. We're now going to start open sourcing tooling that allows us to build reliable infrastructure github.com/vexxhost/yum-m… This toolset allows you to maintain a set of frozen packages to avoid package drift across large fleets of servers.

@dmw_83 @BBCRD The frames per object read/write can be varied - the objects are of the roughly 10's of MB right now. Building a scalable object store optimised for throughput ends up in a quite different place to most IOPS-chasing reference designs. Other example here sched.co/MARK

@dmw_83 @cloudnull I'm using this every day with LXD and it's great. We get a solid 2x runtime reduction. Can't wait to wire up the last few pieces into Openstack-Ansible. And for network devices, just don't use the mitogen strategy on those hosts groups..... simple :)
