Unpopular opinion: Ruto will win 2027 elections, our focus should be on parliament not the presidency. Once parliament is working for the good of the people they can enact laws that will curtail the powers of the president and will ultimately hold any president of the day accountable. With the current broken parliament even if we have a new president he will still be corrupted by the weak institutions. The French Revolution was successful because there was a complete overhaul of parliament and the citizens began to enact policy changes that eventually took all the powers of the king by the time he was being deposed 5 years later he was basically just a ceremonial king with no real power. This is the approach we should take to have impactful change in our country.
