@_wohyeahwohyeah Gender-associated dress is as made up as any other style, though aspects of it amplify some physical traits. It would probably have been more productive, as an initial step, to allow free choice of dress, rather than to hard-link it to social transition. Society adapts in steps

Why is it when transphobes talk about trans kids being allowed dress based on their gender identity it's 100% always about not accepting trans girls dressing as girls. What it is about "males" dressing as females they find so offensive but not the other way around?

@sacha_coward Yea, I didn't transition until I was financially independent but I started working at 18 to make sure that I could just block my birth parents when I came out, which ended up being necessary. Wish I'd had the fighting spirit I do now.

Some kids will have to make a choice between the street and the closet. Both are awful. But based on a number of my queer friends, I know many would rather choose the street. These guidelines are a new kind of section 28, although in some ways worse. Forced outing helps nobody.

@talentedfergal @KatyMontgomerie You're welcome to present your findings and proposed treatments to medical journals for peer review, and put together some studies to show positive outcomes using a newer methodology for treatment. This won't stop people from being trans but it will at least make you qualified.

@thelexikitty @KatyMontgomerie I have no doubt you feel at odds with your natal sex, I have sympathy for that. I just believe that humans can't change sex, or that gender in the way you express it, exists. No kid is trans.

The UK government announces that trans kids should be treated as subhuman at school within 24h of the guilty verdict in the Brianna Ghey trial. It's all just so grim :-(

@KatyMontgomerie Bore off Katy. The guidance makes it very clear that sex is a protected characteristic and, at last, that sex trumps 'gender identity'. All kids will be better off when we stop pretending they can just choose which sex they want to be.

This woman is a religious fundamentalist. No one is "born in the wrong body". You cannot be. You are your body. Your body cannot grow an opposite sex brain the same as it cannot grow an opposite sex bowel. "Transgender" is a lie which harms children & vulnerable adults.

The UK has released a horrifying draft policy guidance for schools on trans kids. It specifies that schools are not required to allow trans youth to "socially transition," may force haircuts. This goes further than even most US anti-trans laws when it comes to schools.

Been called for dury duty yet again... Apparently the letter the GP sent wasn't enough. So now Ive asked for it to clearly state my condition is permanent and I won't be able to do it. I'm fucking stressed about this shit.

This is pernicious rubbish. It’s gay and above all lesbian and bisexual teens who are most at risk from the “gender identity” craze and harmful medicalization. Social transition is not a neutral act. This dangerous messaging highlights the urgent need to separate LGB from TQ+.
