@matternj @All_Things_Mavs Not only is it getting the pick back but Williams is an expiring contract. Between him and Klay is over $30 million a year. Thats a lot of cap space. We want to build for the future it doesn’t matter who is on the team next season.

Random but I just looked into this the Wizards picked up AJ Johnson’s team option back in October, so he is under contract for next season He’s only making $3.2 million and is 21 years old, so that salary should be able to move… or just dump if necessary

@ForzaHorizon I will say that i haven’t been able to play a lot but i am already 15% complete. I was a little surprised it was that far along. It took me months to get to 30% complete on FH5. I work so i cant play daily.

@TheMavsBlog The only way you trade Kyrie is if you have made a deal with Charlotte for their pick back. You have to be good next season and beyond if you don’t have that pick.

I will say, trading Kyrie now is obviously going to make you worse and you don’t have your draft pick. Would be a strange season.

I know it’s heartbreaking, but trading Kyrie makes an immense amount of sense for everyone involved. I would guess these teams all have some level of interest. Timberwolves Rockets Pistons Hawks Raptors? Who else?

Hear me out • Almost EVERYBODY involved in the Luka trade has been fired/traded • Still have Kyrie, who LD said was his favorite teammate ever • Still have most of the core from the Finals team • Now have Cooper Flagg, a superstar running mate for the future • Luka still has his Dallas house • New GM respects him as a player and a man • Lakers appear to be content with a mediocre roster Summer 2028 is going to be cinematic

unpopular opinion, but the discourse around how to build your team or changing the team's approach to building based on other teams' immediate success is overblown are the mavs close to what the spurs and thunder are doing? no but teams also weren't close to 2024 Boston and then everything changed this league is insane and things change every single season

@triplethreadNBA I don’t think that’s who they draft but it could make for an interesting starting lineup. You could have Kyrie and Lively with three wings of Lopez, Flagg and PJ. Kidd wouldn’t know what to do with that.

@LukaUpdates My theory is that so many of them were wrong about him during the pre-draft stuff the year he was drafted. So many thought he would be a bust. The only way to try and prove themselves right is just not give him any awards.

@NationMffl Neither. I would rather get someone like Simons as a backup for Kyrie. The Celtics could have used him in the playoffs. He could take Kyrie’s place in the lineup when he is out.

I think there’s a tiny chance Wagler falls to 9, I think the most likely options for Dallas are gonna come down to 4 guards, and here’s how I’d rank them in terms of who I want: 1) Mikel Brown Jr. 2) Brayden Burries 3) Kingston Flemings - GAP - 4) Labaron Philon
