I don't think Sotheby's uses authentication, they believe they are better than that.

@MitchSchumacher @shoezeum @goatcollect They are not even a sample PE. They have completely different structure and proportions. The true sample PE was not a production run shoe, since it was months before its actual release date of November. The tagging from the single game shoe indicates that.

@shoezeum @goatcollect He would wear them in practice or every day life if needed. IMHO the shoes are sample PE never game used but 1000% never signed by Michael Jordan or any member of the Chicago Bulls.

@Steve_Grad Also, this model color itself did not arrive for retail until November. Therefore there was NO standard production of this color. This was a one off pair made specifically for these games. The tagging on the real gamer is not a production tag. It’s a blank size tag with pen.

**more context**The shoe was forged by someone known as “Kool Aid” who was known for this style of forgery. He claimed he did errands for Jordan years ago. Essentially a BS artist like the signed shoe which is worthless.

I’ve seen a lot of people saying Kenny G (The Perfect Pair) had fake autographs. Idk man…Kenny has always been good people so I’m sure he wouldn’t mind putting the autographs to the test once & for all. I say we set it up.

@Craignoicecube @KariDaniels I know lots of people who have MJ autos that met him on a golf course etc. there are exceptions and those particular finals game worn J’s could be a similar situation. UD isn’t going to always be on site everywhere MJ is. But he’s notoriously known for not signing stuff.

Alright ive got this question sir. Which is the case? A: This guy has been told this by qualified people and knows its fugazzi and has decided to die on the sword that it's authentic to look like a baller or hopefully sell it. B: He just refuses to believe that its fake, no matter who reaches out.

The signed sneakers would even be cooler if the autographs were real. Those are not, seen literally hundreds of those come out of Chicago in the 1990’s

At RGU it is our job to maintain the integrity of the ever growing collectibles industry through prudent research and accountability. Recently a pair of Jordan Sneakers was purchased at Auction and then tampered with in order to appear to be photo matched. We initially issued the photo match LOA and then it was brought to our attention by @goatcollect that the shoes may have been altered as he spotted that this was the same pair that was sold at public auction in June. With the growing values of photo matched memorabilia we will broaden our research to prevent against fraud like this in the future.
