@edwardbrgr Disney had a shot with Mary Poppins. But My Fair Lady got those last two director and picture. Poppins would have had 7 awards and My Fair Lady would have had 6. That was the OBAA & Sinners of 1965.

Between PROJECT HAIL MARY, DISCLOSURE DAY, THE ODYSSEY, DIGGER, and DUNE: PART THREE, there are already a LOT of blockbusters that could get a Best Picture nomination next year.

Reduce the show to under 3 hours. Show more clips, retrospectives, and film reunions from classics. Require best picture films to be released in 1000 theaters.

Here’s a major issue (one of many): It simply airs too late into the year. People lost interest… Even I lost interest this year. It has to be moved up because I was already in 2026 mode weeks ago. The second it ended, I was ready to move on.
