On Monday, an Israel-backed armed group stormed homes and a school in central Gaza, attempting to abduct civilians, including children. Israeli strikes then hit the area, killing 15 people who had confronted the attackers. On Wednesday, Israel killed a well-known Al Jazeera journalist because he was reporting the news from Gaza. No major aid organization—not the UN, nor any groups operating at scale on the ground—says enough aid is entering Gaza. Gaza authorities say only about 40% of essential aid is getting in. There is a severe shortage of basic medicines and proper shelter. People are dying daily from lack of treatment. Yet the High Representative for the Gaza Board of Peace is publicly celebrating inflated aid figures, without acknowledging these conditions or the ongoing attacks.
