Having tried to use EGS multiple times it is decades, at minimum, behind steam in almost every regard. I dont like steam being basically the only game in town, but saying "they are the bad guys" while failing to provide a viable alternative is some bitch made stuff.

Is this the "fair competition" praised by recent articles? If a store with dominant market share taking a 30% cut can bully developers into not passing on savings to customers on competing stores with lower fees, then competition doesn't stand a chance.

Even so, there is a foundational trust thats has been broken. Like a cup you can repair it to work but the crack is always there.

Brand Awareness is good for advertising... Well, awareness of a product.
But you need to advertise a game's selling points in order to get people outside the loop to consider buying it.
There is a wide section of the gaming audience that are young and don't care about Elder Scrolls.
Most of them won't buy the game without a conversion tactic.

🤔 But it doesn't make sense, financially (imo).
🔹 Clearly the game took a lot of time & money to develop. (Leaked in 2023).
🔹 No marketing means it could fly over the head of the casual audience.
🔹 And Clair Obscura Expedition 33 launches on PC Game Pass & Xbox Game Pass in 3 days. (Xbox paid a lot for a Day 1 launch).
🤔 Wouldn't it make more financial sense for Oblivion to launch at a later date on #Xbox, PS5 or PC?
- Like June / July?

You might get the one or two but for the most part you won't find them... they will just get something from the vending machine or grab something to eat from a restaurant. I see this happen every day... so when I heard "stop buying your Starbucks coffee" from a boomer...

Maybe if I get this off my chest I can get some sleep but I think the traditional parenting model is inherently flawed...
We have 24/7 access to anything and everything. And while I don't think letting them access it is a good thing I also don't think keeping them away...
