This week I met @mattgallowaycbc and appeared on @TheCurrentCBC to talk about the thing I'm most passionate about: the human aspect of #privacy. 13 yrs ago when I moved here, @metromorning made me feel I belonged in Toronto. Glad I didn't have to come in at dark o'clock! 🤩

Timely reminder that in 57 days Ontario employers must have a written policy on employee monitoring! More often than not, companies carry out monitoring activities for sales, training, security, safety purposes- not to mention the built-in, on-by-default features of Microsoft365😬

The Privacy Commissioner of Canada just released findings about an airport-based COVID testing firm that sent promotional emails to people who were tested (relying on CASL consent). It raises more questions than it answers. New on my YouTube channel: youtu.be/e75UlPhSX5o

Holding PSR in person in Austin places an unfair burden on ppl who are or may become pregnant, as well as their colleagues & employers. There are plenty of barriers facing pregnant ppl at work, as a profession we should be working to break them down, not create them. #whynotpsr

Conferences are where we go to connect, learn, & grow. This October, privacy pros must compromise our values, or in many cases our physical safety, to attend @privacypros PSR. Or we can sit it out - but most of us are not in the position to make this career sacrifice. #whynotpsr
