BIG UPDATE TIME @btcgreenhouse If you have been following me long enough you will know that myself and Adam from @coinoswallet have working on a dedicated bitcoin heated greenhouse. The goal is to provide food, electricity, and of course bitcoin. As a bonus, education and a learning environment on all three. As of today this is where the project stands and what we need to accomplish before going live with fundraising. Because the project is happening on disputed territory, only disputed by one side aka the Canadian Gov, permission is required by the indigenous locals. On this front we have discussed and received the go ahead. The project was displayed at the local energy symposium to an overwhelmingly positive reception. Who knew that people want high quality organic food locally produced with bitcoin and electricity as a bonus without all the fiat bullshit! The next step is a concept and design for which we have engaged a company called Ceres (ceresgs.com). They have agreed to take the project on and help us design and implement a bitcoin heated greenhouse. They are estimating a cost of $600kUSD for lockup aka fully finished with lock and key. They are asking for a $7K retainer to begin the engineering work on the heat recovery from the bitcoin mining. For the bitcoin mine we are looking at a 100KW setup from @upstreamdatainc with dry cooler and then pluming the hot loop into the floor of the greenhouse. We will be using @Whatsminer_MBT hydro cooled ASICs, approximately 10 to begin. The site for the greenhouse is 1 hectare and the actual footprint will be around 9600 square feet. With the extra heat we are going to provide services to a mill which will positioned along side the greenhouse in the form of a kiln. Extra heat will be used as well for drying firewood for locals. IF we still have extra we will look to do something a la the bathhouse in New York (abathhouse.com). This would be a bonus of course but we want to dream big. As for the design of the greenhouse you can see it pictured below. A central headhouse, and 4 adjoining greenhouses each with an individual climate controlled environment so we can grow pretty much anything we like. The headhouse will be glass and have a solarized rooftop. The front side will be in the style of stained glass with the design provided by local indigenous artists. We can go for either ultimate cost savings and efficiency or something that is slightly more beautiful and of course we are going for the second option. In terms of what is grown, we are collecting feedback from the community and further to that we will provide the github for the bitcoin community to provide feedback as well. Everything about this project will be open sourced that way it can be replicated and improved upon. If you listened to the interview about the project you will remember the discussion of the royalties and distribution of mined bitcoin. For this we are using @Liquid_BTC to create an asset that when held in a wallet will receive bitcoin generated by the project. This will be in the form of mined bitcoin, bitcoin purchased by power sales, and revenue generated by selling the food produced inside the greenhouse. All income will be reinvested into the hardest money of all time. This process requires local knowledge holders and will hopefully be ready in a few weeks. You might think coming up with a name is a simple thing however here a name can only be produced a certain way, the right way.
