ICAN Skills level is a little difficult, but the good thing is, it creates a soft landing for ICAN Professional. To someone from a non-accounting background, it may be difficult to understand Management Accounting and Financial Accounting, especially for those who don't have a foundation in quant-heavy courses like Engineering. It is an unfamiliar to many Law grad who want to transition into Finance. A couple of times I have been asked when I am going to offer a 10 Day Special Revision Class for Management Accounting and Financial Accounting. This is something I would love to consider but a lot of effort goes into teaching a course to students have been trained differently for many years. For example, to an English grad you are not teaching Management Accounting, you are teaching analytical and logical reasoning. Are you in the ICAN Foundation level? Let me hear your thoughts. How are you studying for Management Accounting and Financial Accounting?

I did this in my former apartment for 2 months and absolutely regretted it. Gave my passwords to my neighbors. Told them it was unlimited. I learned the hard way that unlimited meant different things for different people. For me, it meant being online permanently. Streaming and working was now seamless. For my neighbors, it meant unlimited downloads. Walahi, I couldn’t use it. These guys were downloading 100gb torrents and slowing the speed for everyone. I had to go over and tell them. “It is unlimited. Get on Netflix or prime and stream what you want to watch” I could only talk. They were still downloading. In fact, a particular neighbor brought his friends to come and download and go home. I couldn’t use it because downloading slows down speed for everyone else. Last year November, Financial Management exam in ICAN. It was a new course, so there were no solid past questions to rely on. I remember reading for it scared. It was my last paper, so I just wanted to get it over with. The moment I got the script, I flipped straight to the back of the question paper to check for written questions. At least would be able to buttress and cook There were none. Everything was calculations. 100 marks of pure calculations. I just sat there and told myself, “you are done for.” I didn’t even touch my pen for the first 45 minutes. I was just thinking about how I could have devoted the time I spent on X to reading instead . When I looked around the hall, it didn’t help. I could see people counting ceilings and eating their pen. There was this guy beside me whose book was an empty as mine At that point, there was nothing else to do. I just started answering the questions the best way I knew how. That exam felt like the longest 3 hours of my life. When it ended, I already knew what was next. I didn’t even wait for the result. I had started saving up to register again because I knew the kind of rubbish I wrote. When the result came out and I passed, I was shocked. As I take get 73😂

Lol There are complex formula in Finance. Very complex. The bigger problem is even knowing what to classify as what. What I described in the tweet is the barest. Even in that, you see some complex transactions that you won’t even know whether you should classify it as equity or liability. And, I’m surprised you consider square root, pie square, almighty formula complex. If that is what you consider complex, says a lot. Many science students will write CFA and fail.
