Alberta is responsible for how justice is delivered in this province but has no direct role in appointing the judges who serve on our courts. Those judges make decisions that affect Albertans every day, and they should understand the communities and province they serve.
Alberta is calling for a constitutional amendment to give the province a formal role in superior court appointments.
We are calling on all parties and Members of Parliament to support it.
