@thesteeden

You win some, you lose some, but you keep on fighting. It’s about how much you can take and keep moving forward.

@hendry_hugh Since 1971 the dollar is down 99% relative to the price of gold. A 1932 $20 gold coin contains $3900 of pure gold.

@PinguCapital @hendry_hugh So you’re telling me, from one fund manager to another, that building a 1.5B hedge fund (building.. he wasn’t handed the keys to one, he built it) and all the discipline it takes to do that counts for naught? Please tell me your trolling

@hendry_hugh That’s not Hugh Hendricks. That’s ChatGPT. Zero thought. Zero insight. That’s not analysis. It’s gobblygook.

@_Checkmatey_ Tbf we don’t actually know that they were buyers. Fairer to say it would have been a 50/50 mix.

Gold and silver collectively destroyed trillions of dollars of market value held by all those poor retail investors lining up to buy it recently. I don't know how those metal-pumper crooks can look themselves in the mirror after fleecing these people of their hard earned savings

@storm Hopefully Stefano has learnt his lesson to talk less. Hopefully we re-sign Grant and Pezet stays. My guess is Paps and NAS will be moving on. Munster will gladly move to FB and Pezet can go 5/8th to work on his running game. Get Tino and we have a next level squad.

@FOXNRL Gotta say, this just makes the game look amateur hour. How you can seriously officiate a game one way during the season and then have a different approach to officiating during big games is just baffling. Officiate every game like a GF.

@storm I’ll say this. When Penrith lost to us back in 2020, I read that JFH was out training the next day with tears still rolling down his eyes. Tomorrow morning, the choice will be yours with how you respond to this pain.

@storm Well fellas. 80 minutes to go. It’s gonna get to a point where it’s just about heart. When the fatigue kicks in and it comes down to that extra 10%. Digging deeper than you ever have. Where it comes down to how badly you want it. You’ve trained for this moment. Glory awaits you.

Never understood why NRL shows/podcasts wrap up before the Grand Final. Wouldn’t dissecting the GF after it’s played make more sense??

@SulloReport 💯 based on this standard, Blake should be the Australia dummy half. Period. If we want the awards to truely mean anything then this is how you get rewarded. I realise it’s an over simplification but it just ain’t feeling that prestigious these days.

Obviously there’s little argument Tedesco earned the Dally M, but I still think it needs an overhaul to stop this trend of players winning from teams in the bottom half of the top 8

@Tedeschi8181 The whole thing just needs a revamp top down. It feels kinda meaningless. James Tedesco is a great player and big congrats to him but if it wasn’t for Hughes winning by the 1 point last year he would have won 3 now since 2019. That’s Thurston/Smith territory. Immortal level. 🤷‍♂️

Imagine if they actually treated the awards with the respect they deserve … how hard is it to read out votes from every game?

@Nothingtruly0 @PenrithPanthers I’ve learnt to never underestimate the Broncos. We sure do have a good thing going. Nothing but respect to 4 peat Premiers! It’s been a privilege to watch you boys play- albeit not to lose to you though lol

Penrith’s junior base is on another level — 9,770 players registered this year, compared to just 636 at the Roosters. Cronulla are second with 6,274, Eels third with 5,644. (DT)

@DefinedRebuild @centralNRL These players were already gifted. You don’t play for Australia if you don’t already have a touch of magic. But it takes a great coach to make that magic shine. Which Ivan is. That said, for my mind he has a bit to go to be in the conversation as THE greatest coach of all time.

@thesteeden @centralNRL He also debuted and helped develop 3/4 of those, he also stood by Dylan Edwards when most coaches would have sent them to England. These players weren’t automatically good, they’re well coached and well rehearsed, as people say they’re “system players” he is the system.

There’s been plenty of chatter about Ivan Cleary’s place in the GOAT debate. Wherever you stand, the “look at his team” argument doesn’t hold weight — Developing players into rep stars and multimillion-dollar assets is an argument for him not against. And let’s not forget: even as these players have kept leaving, Penrith have kept winning.
