Pros:
Task Management is what brought me to Amplenote. I originally wanted to create tasks inline while writing notes, and Amplenote does exactly that.
Also Amplenote doesn't require much initial configuration, i.e. it's out-of-the-box useful.
Amplenote also has many plug-ins, but definitely not close to Obsidian... (to me, that's overwhelming)
Cons:
Amplenote might feel a little raw if you are coming from tools like Notion. Like if you have a spectrum of a code editor like VSCode on one side, Notion on the other, Amplenote might be in the very middle tilting towards VSCode.
However, I'd argue this could also be a pro, since it prevents me from tinkering with the tool too much.

Reading in 3 dimensions:
1. Add the pdf in @amplenote note
2. Open the pdf in the note
3. "Ctrl+Click" the same note to open it in side panel
4. Write your notes, thoughts, commons (while reading the book!)

The 4 levels of luck:
1. Dumb luck: e.g. winning lottery. You can't influence it.
2. Luck by greater numbers: e.g. you getting out of the house more often will increase your chance of finding some lost $$$.
3. Luck by knowledge: e.g. a seasoned investor can spot rare winners when they come up (while others don't recognize them).
4. Luck by reputation: e.g. you are well known for a certain skill and opportunities will come to you.
Start with # 2, try to get to # 3, and then you should be set.
But if you get to # 4 - other people will start calling you lucky (and that's when you know you've 'made it').

In mastering any skill at the forefront of any given field, there are often 3 layers:
1. Mastery of concepts.
The fundamentals of what the field is about, and not only the skill itself.
2. Mastery of skills.
How to actually apply a certain specific knowledge in solving a problem in the field.
3. Mastery of tools.
How to use a software or hardware when applying the skill to carry out a task.
All 3 are often intertwined but mastering one will often reinforce understanding of the others.
For example, I'd say research is not a skill, but a concept. Ask anybody in a English-speaking country but without the rigorous academic training, she won't know how to do it properly.
But to truly master it, you will need the skills of:
1. Writing (often in English since more info exists in the language)
2. Analytics in your specific field
To successfully use the skills, you have to know how to search public information (Google/Reddit/etc.), how to search within the realm of academics (databases, etc.), and how to analyze data using general or industry-specific tools.
Mastery on all 3 levels is the final goal, and those who do will stand to win big time.

Had a major failure in business or life? Don't waste it.
Instead, use your failures as a primary learning resource.
Forget courses; study your own missteps. They hold unique insights for exponential growth.
For example, create a “Failure Journal” to document major mistakes. For each failure, write one actionable change to avoid repetition and apply it immediately.

What is an obvious benefit of having to specify the object type before creating anything in an app like Anytype or Capacities?

At the start of each year, I start a new note in @amplenote to document my process.
Every time I finish a task, I put it in there with a tag (e.g. Personal Business)
At the end of the year, I'm amazed at how much stuff I did. (2024: over 200).
Trusting the process.
