🚨 URGENT APPEAL – SEVERE WEATHER EMERGENCY Help Us Support Dogs on the Streets With London facing an extreme heatwave and Westminster will call a Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) / Amber Alert, we are urgently stepping in to protect the welfare of rough sleepers and their dogs. We’ve been in close contact with Westminster’s Rough Sleeping Coordinator to ensure we’re on standby to support outreach teams, especially where dogs are involved. Our team will be out on the streets of London, distributing: •Electrolyte drinks for dogs •Fresh water for both dogs and their owners We’ve provided vital advice to outreach teams on spotting signs of heat exhaustion and distress in dogs, and how best to support and advise owners. We’re also preparing emergency kennelling for any dogs that need urgent care or cannot stay with their owners overnight. Our sanctuary is equipped with air conditioning units and compassionate staff ready to provide safety and comfort. However, we urgently need your help. Our current wish list includes: •Dog-safe electrolyte drinks •Bottled water •A small paddling pool for use at our sanctuary •Supplies for setting up a dedicated outreach cooling station This station will serve rough sleepers with dogs but also help educate the public, including anyone irresponsibly walking their dogs in dangerous heat.
