@andrewray @shaderfrog I’m building a WebGL shader graph composer using the @thing_umbrella library. It lacks a GLSL parser however, as I’d like to be able to parse user-defined GLSL functions and generate the @thing_umbrella shader AST from that.

Big up to @andrewray & @shaderfrog for the GLSL-parser implementation. The best parser written in TypeScript that I've seen. Will come incredibly handy! github.com/ShaderFrog/gls…

@marcinignac Aral explains the issue very well in this post: ar.al/2022/11/09/is-… tl;dr don't use any of these massive instances (with 100's of thousands of users)! Join or migrate to smaller communities/servers (or even self host, also managed options available...)

Just in case you wonder: decentralized doesn't mean peer-to-peer, local first, etc. Just another server in the cloud. mastodon.social right now is like ummmmm for me.

Btw. If anyone's actually toying around w/ the thi.ng/wasm-api gluecode generators: Yesterday, I fixed 2 small, but serious bugs in the TypeScript gen (already released): 1) Memory mapping of arrays (item size) 2) Address calc for f64 floats lookups (off-by-one bitshift)

Btw. I strongly encourage any @thing_umbrella user to also join in the fun & share their experiences as part of #thingvember! The more, the merrier (in this case :)! Same goes for proposals for any relevant topics you'd want me to talk about more...

We'll definitely encounter transducers in various others places, contexts and examples during #thingvember, so for now I will just leave you with this short TL;DR: Stop worrying about for-loops and learn to compose & describe your transform steps more functionally & highlevel!🚀

Alone in the thi.ng/umbrella ecosysytem (btw. NOT a framework, I have to repeat!), thi.ng/transducers is being used by dozens of other pkgs, dealing w/ anything from DSP to UIs, dataviz, curve/geometry processing, reactive programming, simulation, tessellation etc.

#thingvember 1/ Since this month offers 30 different opportunities to highlight interesting parts/aspects of this project, there won't be any particular order to it! To begin, let's briefly talk about one of the main work horses: thi.ng/transducers & how to use them... 🚀

New versions (incl. codegen bugfixes) of thi.ng/wasm-api & thi.ng/wasm-api-dom, now w/ correct memory mapped accessors for arrays/slices and simplified attribute declaration for DOM elements. Pls see readme & changelogs for details!
