This is a common phenomenon in most of the developing world. You’ll have some prestige projects with world class infrastructure in the capital city or business center, and then in the countryside no electricity or running water
It’s really this contrast that you should primarily notice

Just landed in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for a first time visit in the country and I'm absolutely wowed by the airport. It's not just China: bit by bit the whole of Asia is getting world-class infrastructure.

10k a mo is less than minimum wage
When I hit 10k mrr I felt this.
People who are new to business fall for this gimmick because they don't understand
- hours required
- costs & tax
- risks
Most people only have concept of wage hours per month.
They think about business rev as income in 9-5 terms.
They dont get that you worked 12h a day, 6-7 days a week for it.
Do the math.
10.000/(6days x 12 hours) x 4
= 34/hour gross
Minus tax and costs (40-50%)
Thats 18 an hour net
This is what I pay my student workers at minimum wage
Wake up
Pairaw@itspairaw
$10k/mo is genuinely a psyop thats $120k/year do you understand how small of a number that is
English

@itspairaw When I hit 10k a mo, I realized how dumb the whole thing is 😭

I'm convinced that people who are versed in the latest news and societal issues etc, are the issue.
Since starting a business I have lost complete intrest in anything out of my hands.
I dont scroll X anymore,
I don't "think" and
I don't read the thoughts of people with repressed childhood trauma and too much time (philosophers).
Think about it: if you do nothing in life but inhale info on how fucked everything is, you are fucked.
Input=output
Internal locus of control is the way.

@Nicolascole77 How is this dumdum copium arguement still around?
75 people show up to a venue for you.
75 people were shown your post by the algo while doomscrolling,
And it clearly sucked so it stopped doing that
Big difference.

@levelsio My gf and I recently had this realization too. Like you go somewhere and all you do is shop, walk, eat and drink. Its so meaningless at the end of the day
I'd rather live and work there for a couple of months

I never really enjoyed leisure travel
You just sit in airports, planes, to then sit in hotels, then you walk around shops, cafes, and restaurants, maybe see some churches and temples
That's why I went digital nomad, so I could LIVE in places, at my own pace, get to know the neighborhood, go to the same places every day, and you get to know the people
Then you get invited to local meetups, dinners, parties, and you slowly become part of the place and experience how it really is. But to do that you have to stay there for months
That's always been the funnest way to travel for me
Realistically that's much easier to do when you're single. Simply because most women want very different stuff from travel than men
Women are statistically more risk averse and on average they prefer more controlled and planned leisure travel, think group travel, spots everyone else went to from Instagram, luxury resort and cute hotel experiences
While men are more risk seeking so they prefer more unplanned backpacking-style spontaneous travel, like randomly ending up in some village in Vietnam and drinking with the locals
See how many of the Bald and Bankrupt style YouTubers are women, not a lot, or even why only a small % of digital nomads are women, I think about 20-30%
So they do exist in DNs but generally much less
So that's kinda how you end up with boring leisure travel, it's probably just not super fun for men but they're dragged along
This isn't unsolvable though, you can go long term somewhere together and still do what you both like even if it's different for men vs women
The trips I liked most are long term and we stay in places for many weeks or months in an Airbnb/rental and we beome part of the place. And it becomes a real memory for the rest of my life
Which in digital nomad lingo we call slowmading 😊
Nikita Bier@nikitabier
The sole purpose of leisure travel after age 30 is to remind yourself that you’ve lost all childlike joy and the only thing that excites you is aggregating land and resources and watching number go up.

The weirdest thing I got told this week:
“I’d never tell that you model and do business”
And looking back at my life 3 years ago,
I wouldn’t believe it either.
Just last year I was working as a barista.
Now, some days I pull 12-14hr work days and work like my life depends on it,
And some days, I spend hours shooting and doing nothing nothing else.
Recently i’ve had bunch of people in DMs asking me how i’ve been able to drastically transform my life in such a short period of time.
I attribute a lot of my results to this one philosophy:
Don’t limit yourself.
There’s only so much you can do with:
• 78 years life expectancy
• 24 hours in a day
• 1 life
When I quit my barista job to go all in on X, everyone told me i’m crazy.
But deep down? I always dreamt of becoming a model and going on shoots.
And just a few days ago,
I went for my first modelling gig - all while building a 5-fig business at the same time.
Had I listened to everyone around me and kept working my “stable” job - I wouldn’t be here today.
The lesson?
Don’t just build a life you like,
Build one you hate escaping from.

@audrlo Tweeting less is also a good sign towards customers that you are actually working 🤣
