Been looking forward to tomorrow's Prodigy gig for almost a year. After the events at Peter Kay in Birmingham tonight I honestly don't know if I can do it, my anxiety level is off the charts.

How dare you? Just how dare you?? I want to cry with anger reading this post. Let alone those beautiful girls families. You skipped to Southport, lobbed a wreath in the direction of all the other tributes. Ran away and called everyone FAR RIGHT that were heartbroken, angry and scared for their own children. You have caused the biggest divide this country has ever seen. You locked people up for being angry and scared, some of which never came out alive. You actively withheld information about that murderer and his family. You knew the level of failure that led to that thing taking the lives of children and injuring many more. You forbade any other MP to raise questions about that murderer or the situation. You doubled down and blamed us! Distraught mums and worried parents. If it was possible to despise you anymore I do, having read this post.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

The brutal, senseless murders of Bebe, Elsie and Alice marked one of the darkest moments in our country’s history. The report today is truly harrowing and profoundly disturbing. It sets out systematic failures that led to this terrible event. I’ve been overwhelmed by the bravery and determination of their families and while nothing will ever bring these three little girls back, I’m determined to make the fundamental changes needed to keep the public safe. I will do everything I can to honour the memory of Bebe, Elsie, and Alice.

Disgraceful! The National Concert Hall in Ireland has cancelled our planned performance of the OCTOBER 7 play. It seems there is no room in Ireland for the truth about Israel. We went to Israel after the massacre to collect the testimony of those who lived through the country’s darkest day. We saw there was a need for the truth in Ireland and further afield. We created a verbatim play from the stories we heard. The New York Post described the OCTOBER 7 play as “compelling”. It has been performed off-Broadway for six weeks and in Princeton, UCLA , Bowdoin College and the Kennedy Center in DC. Every performance was sold out. But now because of the actions of the National Concert Hall Irish people will not be allowed to hear the truth about October 7 and Israel - in the words of those who lived through the day. This is hugely damaging to Ireland’s reputation as a home for art and artists. What a statement this makes! OCTOBER 7 has Jewish and Arab voices. The National Concert Hall has told them: we don't want to hear your stories. It's shameful but will not be allowed to stand. We will bring the OCTOBER 7 play to Ireland.

Whatever one’s views on the politics of Viktor Orbán, two facts are undeniable: 1. Under his leadership, Hungary became the safest place in Europe for Jews; and 2. He was an unflinching supporter of Israel, unwavering in his solidarity with the Jewish state and fearless in standing up to the hordes at the European Union and the United Nations. This we will never forget. Thank you! 🇮🇱 🇭🇺

Nearly 30 years from the Belfast Agreement, Labour is allowing our ageing veterans to be dragged before the courts for defending Britain. Without these men there would have been no peace process - the terrorists would have triumphed. Starmer is betraying them.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

28 years ago today, the Good Friday Agreement was signed, one of Labour’s proudest achievements. Working in Northern Ireland, I saw first-hand the transformation peace brought to communities. At a time of global instability, it reminds us that peace must be built and protected.

The National Concert Hall has taken the all too predictable decision to cancel the private fundraiser for Magen David Adom Ireland. In modern Ireland, any expression of sympathy or recognition of Israeli/Jewish suffering and needs cannot be entertained. I would say a dark day for our country - but then again, when isn't? Full statement by @Alan__Shatter, Chair of Magen David Adom Ireland: “ The cancellation by the National Concert Hall of MDA Ireland’s scheduled private fund raising event can be properly described as an act of antisemitic censorship. The National Concert Hall  disgracefully & indefensibly cancelling  a Magen David Adom Ireland private fund raising event scheduled for May 11 at which the experiences of survivors of the Hamas massacre and of responders on October 7, over two years ago were to be narrated in their own words in a staged reading is truly disgraceful and shocking.   Engagement on the event commenced in November last, the date for the event was finalised in early February and since then the NCH have cancelled it, reinstated it and cancelled it again, each cancellation having a spurious basis.  In the end it seems that the NCH regards  it as wrong that the stories of the survivors and responders of October 7, 2023 be told in their own words. The events cancellation by the NCH can be properly described as an act of antisemitic censorship. What behind the scene lobbying or pressure, if any, impacted the decision is unknown.  There is an escalating global perception of Ireland as one of the most antisemitic countries in Europe. After years of denial the Taoiseach in January acknowledged the existence of a problem that uniquely impacts our Jewish community. Unfortunately, the decision of the NCH will add to that perception. I am deeply saddened that we have arrived at the position in Ireland where it is acceptable that our publicly funded National Concert Hall and its board stop the factual, undecorated narration on one of its stages of the worst Jewish tragedy since the Holocaust that also  impacted others, a tragedy involving murders, rapes and abductions and heroism of responders and rescuers. A private fund raising event for  an independent humanitarian organisation dedicated to life saving & emergency medical response connected to the Jewish community should not be a cause of difficulty or controversy. I am calling on the Board of the NCH to reinstate our event and for the resignation of those who saw fit to cancel it. The lack of insight and understanding is truly shocking.” CC @annmcelhinney @Alan__Shatter @PhelimMcAleer

Northern Ireland is not part of the Republic because the majority of its population didn’t wish to be. That’s still the case today and by law (domestic and international) that’s how it will stay for as long as the majority wish it.
AJ+@ajplus

The Good Friday Agreement brought peace to Northern Ireland 28 years ago after decades of violent conflict. But have you ever wondered why Northern Ireland is separate from the Republic of Ireland? Spoiler alert: the answer involves around 800 years of British colonialism.

🇭🇺🤝🇮🇱 Thank you for your support! We will continue to ensure that Jewish communities in Hungary can live in safety, dignity, and peace.
עמיחי שיקלי - Amichai Chikli@AmichaiChikli

Budapest under Viktor Orbán is one of the safest capitals in Europe for Jews, and one of the very few where a Jew can walk to synagogue on Shabbat morning wearing a tallit and kippah without fear. This is no accident. It stems from a responsible immigration policy, zero tolerance for antisemitism, and consistent enforcement of the law. For years, Orbán’s government has invested heavily in restoring synagogues across Hungary, rehabilitating Jewish cemeteries, and affirming Jewish heritage as an inseparable part of the Hungarian national identity. When the October 7 massacre occurred, Hungary acted immediately: it hosted Israeli delegations, became a safe haven for Israeli sports teams, banned demonstrations supporting the terrorist organization Hamas, and in a powerful symbolic gesture renamed the square in front of the Great Synagogue “October 7 Square” in memory of the victims. When the Zionist Youth Congress in Basel faced a boycott, Budapest opened its doors wide and even sent a government minister to show support. This continues a consistent policy: Hungary has repeatedly blocked anti-Israel resolutions in the European Union. Budapest under Orbán stands in stark contrast to Brussels, where the October 7 atrocities are celebrated in the streets and hostility toward Jews has become normalized, even rewarded, in academia. As someone who has seen the sharp rise in antisemitism across Europe, I feel compelled to express deep gratitude for Viktor Orbán’s courageous leadership. I wish him every success in the elections tomorrow.
