@SMIT3_OG @EspokunCity That's generally how certain japanese names are turned into nicknames. ステイゴールド (Sutei Gōrudo) gets shortened to ステゴ (Sutego) = Stego. I'm half sure that's the actual nickname given to the real horse too. Same with Gold Ship=Golshi.

Another thing that English speaking JP fans hasn't realized it yet is how touching for Golshi Week and Gold Week to happen nearly at the same time. For so long, Golshi has been the face of Uma Musume for this kind of event, but now her family (Stego, Dorija, Nakayama, Fenomeno, and Orfe) can have fun with her. It's amazing departure from an alien Uma that feel distance without McQueen.

@UmariTomoe @ReveloAZalarius I feel like this is a tight rope walk. An idol should respect the culture, but still work to not perpretrate the negative aspects of these idol culture. Saying they should respect the culture good, bad, and the ugly would hold idol culture from flourishing.

@ReveloAZalarius I do think you should be prepared to deal with the bad stuff as well, since it's not all sunshine and rainbows. But more than that, you shouldn't make fun of the people who make up the core fanbase of the culture. I feel like this happens all too often.
