Kinda tired of people calling others waiting in line “jobless behavior”. The entire world does not run on a 9-5 schedule. Jobs are more flexible than ever. Millions of people work retail jobs, restaurant jobs, overnight shifts, non traditional hours. I had a 9-5 job for the past 10 years (I mainly freelance now) and I could literally go into work and leave whenever I wanted because I was trusted to do my job (and then I was in charge) If you’re upset that you’re stuck at work and calling everyone else who has free time “jobless”, maybe to need to find a job that fits your lifestyle better 🤷‍♂️

@Tauna_YT if you can curb the fomo, i would honestly wait until the first 5 sets are done typically, new meta cycle with power creep happens around that time currently, riftbound is unbalanced at the top levels but enjoyable casually basically, if you want to be competitive, i'd wait

@DudeWhoInvests here is a good question for you, who the heck is buying up here after a huge run up if i was a buyer and bullish on gold, i would wait until a 30~60% retracement before even considering

@mybedlit @rimuurin Create art well when they have food and shelter etc. Like rich people used to basically have pet artists. They'd pay all their living expenses an in return they got art, often of themselves and their families. The only difference today is that the cost is split between people.

I always found it super weird how sometimes people expect to have an artist working full time while not giving them a full month income. This happens a lot in heavy art projects like games, cards, etc specially. Like yes, you're spending rent money. Guess who also has to pay rent? The artist 🫢

Commission prices are out of control. Simple as. 300 bucks for a ref sheet or basic drawing?? Hell no. That's 10 HOURS of my life I would have had to spend to be able to afford that. Actually, it's definitely more than that because the government taxes wages.

@libisumbrae @rimuurin i understand that practice is good but most of the time for comms, many artists dread it as they create the same picture over and over without having the time to try and learn new things. that is 1 of the struggles i see and have experienced word limit x.x

@mybedlit @rimuurin Nah I think caveat emptor comes in here. People know what they are buying. As for art skill... practice is the biggest driver of skill increase, now yes you should still probably be doing your own work but also yes commissions will improve your skills. People can only...

@rimuurin i honestly have a really hot take as an artist myself i believe that many artists should be practicing their art skills and not doing comms comms should have never been normalized to replace income/rent. it should have been used as supplemental income comms stunt art growth

The Pokémon card market will inevitably crash. I don’t know how or why, but likely within a year after the 30th anniversary. This would follow historical trends. With liquidation at its easiest, there will be far less true collectors. People talk about this event now, but will they be around to talk about it when it actually happens? It is inevitable.

@PokeCardsDaily @SpencersPals i believe the intent of buying is what will cause the biggest correction the people who buy with intent are willing to hold because their plan was never going to sell although the entire market will correct, i believe high end singles and vintage will correct hard

@KobeissiLetter for many states, they have been already in a recession for many many months. typical recession is 6~18 months. we should be out of a recession by end of year or q1 next year. so if this chart says we have high chance and we already are in a recession, what does that mean?

The odds of the US entering recession are rising: The probability of a recession over the next 12 months jumped to 48.6% in February, the highest since the 2020 pandemic. The percentage has risen +15 points over the last 6 months. This is based on the leading economic indicator invented by Moody’s, which uses extensive economic data and a machine learning model. The recent surge was primarily driven by the deteriorating job market, with nearly all economic data softening since the end of 2025. Historically, such a high probability has never occurred outside of recessions. Now with oil prices surging in March, the indicator is expected to breach the key 50% threshold, as every recession since WWII, except the pandemic, was preceded by a spike in oil prices. The longer oil prices remain elevated, the higher the chance of an economic downturn.

@SketchesbyBoze I’ve changed my stance on this so many times. Who is at fault? I used to blame the teachers, then schools, then colleges, but now, I believe it’s mainly the parents. Kids are smart.

Every teacher I know personally is leaving the profession because students have become unteachable. They don’t read, they don’t talk to each other, they have no curiosity, no passion, no interest in learning. Giving kids unfettered access to screens has ruined a generation.

In 2008, 62% of teachers said they were very satisfied with their job. In 2022, that dropped to 12%. We've got a serious problem brewing in education...

Software job postings are rebounding: US software development job postings on Indeed have increased +6.5% since the start of the year, to the highest since January 2024. Since May 2025, openings in this sector have risen +16.7%. As a result, the 21-day moving average is up to the highest since July 2024. By comparison, overall Indeed job postings remain near the lowest since February 2021. That said, software listings are still -69% below their March 2022 peak. At the same time, total openings are -35% below their 2022 high. Has the software job market bottomed?

This is 100% completely unsustainable as a society. Nearly 50% of all consumer spending now comes from the top 10% of earners. The bottom 80%? Their share keeps falling. This is why the economy can look strong in the data while millions of people feel like they're falling behind.
