@smith_johnxxxx @KosSamaras 90 percent of refinery closures occurred under the Abbott-Turnbull-Morrison government. Not to mention Angus Taylor’s decision to ship and store petroleum reserves in the US. Hence most, except yourself blame Trump.

@KosSamaras That is absurd. Petrol prices are entirely on Albanese. Australia has zero extraction, refining, or storage. Any number of regional events could have stopped the supply that Albanese relies on. Everything about this ridiculous government is malicious, destructive, and idiotic.

Our RedBridge Accent polling on petrol prices tells you everything you need to know about the Trump political risk in Australia. 61% of all voters blame Trump for rising fuel costs. Only 14% blame Albanese. Now add a 100% tariff on Australian pharmaceuticals. hitting our drugmakers harder than almost anyone else on the planet. This is the environment any Australian politician or commentator has to navigate when they’re seen nodding along to MAGA world. An environment where an old ally has created a fuel crisis so significant that people cannot afford to drive to work and one that now treats Australian companies worse than Russia. The One Nation number is the most revealing. Even 39% of One Nation voters blame Trump for petrol prices. These are voters who are culturally sympathetic to the populist right. And still, nearly four in ten point the finger at Washington. Any conservative figure who spent the last year cosying up to Trump’s orbit now has to explain why Australian medicines are being hit at the maximum possible rate while other countries got carve-outs. These conservative figures may have thought that with Trump, they had scored a culture war win. Instead, a cost-of-living liability and a sovereign risk just walked through their front door.

I have received numerous complaints from Irate residents who are deeply distressed that no Easter celebration messaging has been erected at the David Jones Westfield Parramatta store. Yesterday afternoon I conducted a walk through of David Jones Parramatta located at Westfield Shopping Centre and could not identify any Easter messaging. The apparent segregation of the Christian community is disgraceful and should be called out. Australia is a Western Democratic country with Christianity being identified as the main religion with roughly 43.9% of the population identifying as Christian. This kind of behavior is most unacceptable and needs to be called out. I have written to David Jones asking for a response in regard to this most serious matter. It is the responsibility of community leaders and major businesses to bring people together not sow division with woke policies that exclude the majority of our community in fear of offending minority groups. Anyone wishing to express their concerns can contact David Jones at contactus@davidjones.com.au

Well, Matt Doorey has confirmed he’s done his ACL. Shattered for him. He was honestly one of our strongest forwards in this first month of the season

I strongly recommend that everyone interested in the current state of Australia and its place in the world watch the full #Insiders interview. Hastie is just about spot on across the board. It is clear he understands the problems, and cares about us enough to want to solve them. Really solve them. I have grabbed a particularly interesting clip, where the ABC public servant David Speers tries to sell Chinese made batteries as some kind of ‘gotcha’, but Hastie just nails him. Batteries made in China will never fix our energy problems. Drilling, mining and using our resources here will. Rebuilding our infrastructure here will. And fixing the diabolical 1970's style industrial relations system will. We just have to get off our arses and get out of our own way before it's too late. Go Hastie. Get 'em. I just want Australia back.

@Matt_Camenzuli Spot on? When he talked about a coordinated Federal/State government response to the fuel crisis, he was asked what that looked like. His answer: a coordinated response to be discussed. He looked like a fool happy to discuss the problem with no solution.

@stingerdelux @AlboMP Absolutely! So interesting that these people speak kindly of my ability as a Greek Australian to assimilate into Australian society. It’s much appreciated but I wonder whether they were the same people that called me a greasy wog in the 1980s?

For generations, the Greek Australian community has helped write the story of modern Australia. And our nation is better for it. As we mark Greek Independence Day this week, we remember their fight for freedom, our shared history and their contribution to our nation.
