May our blessed mother guide us in these troubling times for our country. Reigning on heretic’s parade. Eastern Catholic. Hardcore Papist.

It's really RICH for an Eastern Rite Catholic to ask Traditional Latin Catholics for liturgy extinction in the name of "obedience"... Second one in two days. They can't have even the little "and the Son" mentioned in the Creed in their liturgy, or an uproar ensues, and we have to just accept, out of "obedience", the wholesale destruction of our rite. Grotesque.

@RorateCaeli @Catholicizm1 Not about your liturgy. Rather about obedience to the church authorities.

When Catholics ask about Sola Scriptura, point them to 1 Cor 4:6. ‘DO NOT GO BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN’. How much plainer could Paul be?

This is why we say you worship her, why we cry blasphemy. You have called her “peacemaker between sinner and God.” That is Jesus. Jesus is the only reason we have peace with God. Without Jesus, there can be no peace with God. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Him. Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have also obtained access into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory. God is our hope, our joy, an ever-present help in times of trouble. You take all of God’s glory and give it to a created being. You have turned her into a goddess. This is idolatry. Repent.

Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven, hope of those who are in despair, joy of Angels and Saints, peacemaker between sinner and God, we take refuge in your protection.

My dear friends, I say this with love and sincerity—your intercessor is Jesus Christ alone. The Bible clearly tells us in 1 Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.” While it’s okay to honor those who lived holy lives, such as Mary and the saints, we must never worship them or pray to them as mediators. Worship belongs to God alone (Luke 4:8), and Jesus is the only one who intercedes before the Father on our behalf (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25). Mary was a blessed and chosen vessel to bring forth the Messiah, and we honor her for that. But even she acknowledged her need for a Savior (Luke 1:47). She, like all of us, points to Jesus—not to herself. Let us fix our eyes on Christ, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and give Him the worship and devotion He alone deserves.

Habemus Papam! We have a Pope! The Cardinals gathered in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel have elected Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost as the 267th Pope, who took the name Pope Leo XIV.

I honestly do pray the new Pope is bad enough that it'll wake Roman Catholics up to the fact that they belong to a false church.

@thomasmoreprj @taco_talks Your own religion doesn’t even know if you have salvation, your own religion doesn’t even acknowledge Christ finished work on the cross, the Jesus that Rome conjures up is not the biblical one.

To my Catholic friends who want to argue that Matthias replacing Judas is the Biblical case for apostolic succession today, why was Matthias chosen? Acts 1:21-22: 1. He accompanied Jesus 2. Witnessed the resurrection 3. Witnessed the ascension The entire point of Matthias replacing Judas was to serve as an eyewitness to the resurrection of Christ. By using Matthias, you kill your own argument--how many popes have witnessed the resurrection? Scripture > Tradition

@jzipple Why can’t we just say Pope Francis got some things right, but was human, made mistakes and was a bit unclear on doctrine. I’m sick of people with Francis derangement syndrome, but also people acting like the next Pope must not change anything he did. Both mentalities are wrong.

Francis opponents seem to forget how awful things were at close of the 00’s bc of the abuse crisis. Though his own record isn’t perfect, Francis almost single-handedly rehabbed the Church’s rep w his simplicity of life, down-to-earth style, willingness to apologize (eg Canada.)

@CosinChristian I will admit that “Sola Scriptura leads to craziness” is a terrible argument, but the concept that it is unbiblical to formally recognize the excellence of God manifest in his creation, or that Jesus' word “do this in remembrance” don’t clearly denote the Mass is insane.
