@MikeyCycling Yup. A cousin went partially through a red light to allow two police cars through with lights & horns flashing (both police vehicle roof ID numbers visible on her ticket photo) she appealed & lost, told she should’ve made them wait. I won’t be letting anything through in future.

Don't go through red lights for an ambulance or as a driver you risk 3 points and £100 fine.

@toadmeister One of my daughter's went to the brilliant 6th form at the West London Free School, after which she won a place at Cambridge University. It's difficult to exaggerate how different the WLFS is, how utterly inspirational its teachers are. Thank you Toby. You defied the naysayers.

I remember being on Newsnight with Fiona Millar, Alastair Campbell's partner, discussing my efforts to set up a free school. This was in 2010 when Michael Gove had just announced the free schools policy and there was a great deal of scepticism, mainly put about by the Labour Party and the teaching unions, that a group of parents would have the necessary expertise and dedication to set up something as complicated as a state school, given the challenge of dealing with HM Treasury, the Department for Education, local authorities, planning regulations, environmental health, etc, etc. At one point, Fiona turned to the presenter and said: "I don't even know why we're discussing this. Toby's never going to pull it off. It's just a publicity stunt." The West London Free School, which opened the following year, has just been named the 2026 Sunday Times Comprehensive of the Year. I can only claim a fraction of the credit. The real credit belongs to the co-founders, the pupils, parents, staff and governors, as well as all the officials and contractors we worked with us to get the school open and to make sure it survived and thrived. I hope they all feel as proud as I do.

Oh dear Julia...wrong again. In her appeal - The examination and cross-examination of her lawyer, was able to show that she had been fully and properly advised. It massively backfired! She plead guilty because quite frankly- a jury would have found her guilty and she'd be sat in prison for several years.

@andjamwar @MLBjustme When asked why she was denied bail, you admitted you didn't know and sarcastically suggested asking Grok. Everyone with an internet connection is aware that she pleaded guilty. This isn't the massive bombshell you seem to think it is.
