A flight of F-35s escorts a flight of P-51 Mustangs that perform the Missing Man formation in honor of fighter ace USAF Col. "Bud" Anderson, laid to rest at Arlington today.

This aircraft seen over Larissa, Greece is not a B-2 like the local Greek news reported or an RQ-170, but is in fact best imagery ever published of the RQ-180, an undisclosed low observable drone used by the USAF. Location suggests use in the Iran conflict onlarissa.gr/2026/03/18/mys…

No one will see this buried in the thread, so I wanted to share. Got this tanker flying over in the dark with two F-16's. Went to extremes on the camera to get it at 1/13" and iso32000, shooting straight up.

@CoronetEast I don't think anyone caught them. I'll ask around.

@boomers_ass Cool! Even with all those lights, they were BARELY visible to the naked eye.

@thoraviation Excellent!!! BTW... that light at the tail... that's the Tail Mounted Floodlight, an outstanding addition (years ago now) that improves visibility during air refueling. You can also clearly see the Underwing and Underbody lights, also turned on only for air refueling.

Well... not bad actually. And that was only 40 on the Denoise slider. Two Vipers, and all three diverted to Tinker. Never heard them on the radio again after they passed me, so not sure what went wrong.

I'm not sure Lightroom can save a 1/13" iso32000 shot, but I'll try eventually. 😂

@187astro Yes, last week they did night launches. They seem to do them like twice a year.

@thoraviation Was this just last week? I saw a couple in a row doing this and it was notable since it is so unusual in the area.
