According to the @UN, the richest 10% of the global population earns 40% of global income, while the poorest 10% earns just 2-7%. Inequality undermines social cohesion and democratic stability. SDG 10 calls for policies that ensure equal opportunities and reduce inequalities in income, access, and representation. T&M Advisory works to reduce inequalities by strengthening the capacity of CSOs functioning across the continent. Democracy must work for everyone. #SDG #sdg10 #sdg10reducedinequalities #sdggoals

This book highlights pathways to better CSO resilience and sustainability in Africa, but in today’s context, these issues are global and I believe the lessons can be valuable in many other geographies.” This review by @WilkinsonJill . According to the @UN, achieving sustainable development requires collaboration across governments, private sector, and civil society. No single actor can solve complex challenges alone. Why Partnerships Matter? The most pressing challenges: climate change, inequality, governance deficits, exist at the intersection of multiple systems. Effective partnerships help pool diverse expertise, leverage complementary resources, create sustainable solutions, and amplify collective impact. At T&M Advisory, partnership is our operating model. We work with CSOs, legislatures, funders, and grassroots actors across West Africa to strengthen democratic institutions and civic capacity. Because lasting change happens through collaboration, not competition. #SDG #SDG17 #TMInsights #Partnerships

"Government must rebuild trust and secure long-term buy-in of labour, CSOs and the private sector by establishing a National Economic Compact within three to six months. This compact aligns actors around measurable reform outcomes. Without this, reforms risk resistance and reversal." - @ugwuntadavid premiumtimesng.com/opinion/868790…

“At a time when civil society is under attack everywhere, their value is questioned, their resources are dwindling, @UdoIlo reaffirms with clarity and rigour their importance in the African context, though many of the lessons he shares are applicable in any other part of the world. He shows how CSOs can achieve sustainability and how modest support to local civil society groups has exponential benefits to society as a a whole. It is required reading for CSO leaders, funders and, frankly, governments officials." This review by @fborello1, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Programs Officer, Human Rights Watch; highlights this from the book: “Building on Solid Ground contributes to this by offering structured reflections.” Get your copy using this link: thoughtsandmaceadvisory.com/building-on-so… and join in the conversation! #CSO #BookLovers #Africa #CivilSociety #Bookreview #BookRecommendation

We are pleased to announce the release of our new book by our Founding Partner @UdoIlo titled “Building on Solid Ground: A Primer on Resilience and Sustainability of CSOs in Africa”. Across the continent, civil society organisations continue to play a critical role in advancing accountability, strengthening institutions, and supporting communities. Yet many organisations face recurring challenges not because their mission is weak, but because their systems are not built to endure. This book is a reflection drawn from years of experience working across the sector offering practical insights on governance, leadership, strategy, and sustainability.
