@BlankEthan85350 @ApostolicZoom But when you add Moses’s cosmology and the fact that Jesus physically ascended into heaven in his body, it does seem like the tower was literally going to reach heaven

@throwaway179181 @ApostolicZoom True, but I’m using an extreme example to show that not every part of the Bible is to be taken literally. A simple reading of the Tower of Babel clearly shows it was a punishment for man’s hubris, his attempt to equal God.

@AngloVarangian Even if there were an objective moral framework grounded in Christianity, the core claim of Christianity is that everybody in all history has and will break it. Ultimately it doesn’t even matter. A priest can rape a kid and an atheist can work a food kitchen, ideology aside

@AtheistTakes Christians: I base my entire worldview on books written by men 2000 years ago. Atheist: I base my entire worldview on the writings of random teenagers on the internet yesterday.

@deusimpera @keyframechopper I just now woke up from a dream where the Blessed Virgin Mary told me that you, yes you, are retarded for not becoming Orthodox and that you are going to hell. Hopefully you can be baptized within the year

Sorry for going off at Richard Dawkins today. He's one of the reasons I was an atheist for most of my life, so this is very personal.

Why don’t schools teach about the Bolsheviks who killed millions of Orthodox Christians? Churches were destroyed, icons and relics smashed, priests executed and the faithful who resisted were tortured.

@TDomhnaill There’s more eyewitness testimony for angels appearing to Joseph smith than for the Resurrection

@NeophyteOne @nyssenizer That’s because you went to a shitty school. There are schools that teach this as thoroughly as you can teach history in high school

Atheists, can you explain (without condescension or sarcasm or anger) why you don't believe in God?

@PaulK0985 @what_says2929 @KR3Wmatic Even most Christians today, at least in the U.S., concede that these stories were probably allegorical. I can’t imagine studying these stories and not coming to those conclusions

@throwaway179181 @DLCDonut For most of Christian History wars would be fought with honor, not mass rape and kidnappings like the Muslims. Dont group those pedophile freaks with Christianity, please and thank you.

@zogdefenderno12 @Un_spectre @TheSkepticWiz Call undermining Catholic dogma by placing your trust in secular authorities rather than in the divine apostolic traditions of the church held unwaveringly for almost 2k years a fallacy. It made me feel more secure when I did the same a few years ago, but it can’t last forever

@zogdefenderno12 @Un_spectre @TheSkepticWiz Ultimately when you trust secular science and history above the authors of the scriptures and contemporaries/descendants of the apostles, it’s a slippery slope. I was there not too long ago myself. Good luck
