@SkyNewsAust About time! I was born in Britain but I’ve lived in Australia 50+ years & we are our own sovereign nation. Apart from New Zealand which other country has the flag of another country on their flag?

A Dutch woman, 38, was held captive for a week in a home in Zeist, where she was repeatedly raped and brutally tortured by a 52-year-old migrant identified as E. el B.
The suspect beat and kicked her, assaulted her with multiple objects, forced her under a cold shower, placed a plastic bag over her head, tied a rope around her neck, and cut her arms and legs with a knife.
He is also accused of attempting to kill her by throwing her from his car near the A12 motorway at Maarsbergen and then driving over her.
The victim was found with two collapsed lungs, a broken shoulder blade, a broken nose, a missing front tooth, multiple stab and cut wounds, deep marks around her neck, and was unable to walk. Police said they had never seen a living person in such a severe condition.
Investigators found the victim's DNA and blood in the suspect's home. Prosecutors say his phone contained images of the injured victim and that he had searched online for violent sex websites and for a drug to sedate someone for transport.

@TBifford I think we’ll reach a point where the word problematic is problematic

📺This Love Boat “Swimsuit Edition” compilation is pure 80s TV.
It’s basically a montage of female guest stars and extras in swimsuits set to the show’s theme song. The whole thing feels very of its time — light, breezy, and unapologetically focused on showcasing the women on the cruise. The Love Boat was never trying to be deep; it was pure escapist entertainment.
It’s interesting to compare this to modern TV. Back then, shows like this often leaned heavily into visual appeal and light sexualization of female characters. Today, that kind of content would likely face much more scrutiny.
❓Does this kind of retro TV feel harmlessly nostalgic to you, or does it come across as dated and problematic now? 👇

@millfieldsports @Socceroos Well we make the world cup every time, they haven’t for 28 years. Their team had a great run, showed great sportsmanship, Haaland became even more of a celebrity, and the fans were the most popular. We have other competing sports. They are a less fragmented society.

Question for my nation 🇦🇺 :
Would you expect this type of home coming if the @Socceroos made the quarter final?

Nonsense.
Cricket is the only sport that’s popular in every Australian state & followed by the whole country.
Australia’s largest & third largest states, half the country, don’t give a shit about “Australian football.”
In Queensland, it’s for girls who don’t like Netball.
