According to a new report from ZDNet Korea, Nintendo is evaluating an OLED version of the Switch 2, but it has not been approved yet. The biggest issue is cost: OLED panels are more expensive than LCDs, and prices for memory and other components have also risen. Nintendo is trying to balance better hardware with a competitive price that customers are willing to pay. If approved, the console would feature a 7.9-inch 1080p OLED display. Mass production is expected to begin in late 2027 or early 2028, making a launch before 2028 unlikely.
