@Doc_Courtney @benjbrewster well, obesity is associated with all sorts of adverse outcomes just as, say elevated cholesterol. To say it's not a medical need is disingenuous.
English

@benjbrewster I’m not morally opposed to any medication. In fact, my father and former husband both died of conditions related to obesity. I’m talking about the widespread use by people who don’t have a medical need.

@AmericanGwyn Those jobs wouldn't pay nearly as well if every college-degree holder could do them...

Every undergraduate should have to take courses in welding, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or automotive mechanics so that he’ll have a trade to fall back on if he’s unable to get a job with his degree.

What is your academic opinion that would leave people like this?

This week I started my new job as Communications Officer at The Oskar Klein Centre / @TheOKC - a world-leading research centre for cosmology, astrophysics and particle physics in Stockholm.
This is were I did my PhD, so feels great to be back and help spread the OKC science.

I don’t think I’ve slept as well as that since I was diagnosed 😅.
Glucose levels just flat lined!

After 24 years of manual calculations & injections, tomorrow brings a new world, with much of that work done by an insulin pump talking to a continuous glucose monitor 🙏 I’m not sure how to sum that feeling up. An evening now to contemplate what a huge step this is. #T1D

@tyberinger I'm so sorry. But I'm so happy that we have treatments which can make this very manageable and not affect eyesight. Hoping it all goes smoothly for you.

Once met a person who thought he could "train" his eyes to no longer be near-sighted. It was sad, infuriating, silly and frustrating all at once. He spent a lot of time squinting.

This video is, of course, bullshit. I just want to remind everybody that eye glasses are one of the greatest disability accommodation success stories in human history. Wear your glasses.

@MNboyinCali @ambernoelle But superhero movies usually make 3x to 4x worldwide what they do in US. So even if they take home 30% vs. 60% globally they still make more on worldwide market.
English

@tiaghose @ambernoelle Ehhh, but studios take home about 60% of domestic box office and only 20-40% of international tickets
So, if that *is* what's driving decisions, its a terrible way to decide
English

@Avi11215 @ambernoelle yeah but what is an equivalent love story that's grossed as well since? I can't find one on this list: boxofficemojo.com/chart/top_life…
