I served a Mormon mission from 2002 - 2004. None of us missionaries knew that Joseph Smith practiced polygamy. I was never taught that as a Mormon kid. I don't think I found out until I was in my mid-twenties, and I didn't find out about it at church. I found out about it online.

“Why haven’t you ever heard of this?” Maybe cause you never looked at what is literally right on our website. Hahaha (Seriously this is taught in all Church history classes)

Thinking ab this guy from the 2022 cup finals when the avs were just demolishing us and this guy stood up and waved to all of us after every goal. Hated him at the time but I hope he’s well now❤️

Avs fans are mostly cool. My only issue is their ridiculous obsession with “Makar is better than Hughes” They’re both elite. They can’t just admit Hughes is a stud. Super super weird.

@LawlessRepublic I don’t think he was very good this year but didn’t go after him much individually. But I think the “on to better” post was not a great look and burned a lot of bridges with fans that otherwise would’ve been mostly neutral towards him

Abdullah Ahmed is out the door at BYU basketball, but he likely has very few positive feelings toward the fans who booed him on the way out. He didn't play well in Provo, but he deserves more respect than he's been given. lawlessrepublic.com/the-abdullah-a…

@dmh1125 Once again an example of something I’ve known for decades that the church kept secret when in reality they just slept through seminary

@LexLinChk Ironically enough the most important thing Katara ever learned was what she learned with the women, when she couldn’t train with Pakku

@LexLinChk Sure, I’m not writing full nuance into it, to me it seems like he was basically giving a lesson during the fight since he could tell she was a prodigy. And whether it was nepotism or influence of a previous and future love interest, he would not have bent the rule for anyone else

@EmperorKarino @literaturedevil Katara lost the duel. Decisively. And it wasn’t the duel that changed his mind, it was nepotism because Pakku dated (and later married) Katara’s grandma

The Kyoshi warriors was about honoring a past avatar. The southern water tribe was about following tradition and maintaining gender roles. Neither was "sexist", it was logical and reasonable. Also they bent their rules as Sokka trained and fought with the Kyoshi warriors. The water bending master changed his mind after a duel. Its crazy and dumb that kotarra was able to beat and change the mind of a water bending master.
